Hi,
My roof top is damaged right now i took it to the dealer and they said that it would cost around $5300 to make it fully operational again. I decide to forget about it and close it forever, but there is one problem that i am facing right now... The warning wont shut off even if the roof is completely closed and its really annoying beeping all the time. Can anyone help me with this? The dealer said they cant do anything about it.
The dealer could not figure out what really happened..
But i was closing the top and i heard something snaps and the whole system went down, and the roof fell back in the trunk, and the trunk cant be closed. I took it to the dealer they took almost one month to just say that it will cost that much and hand the car over to me...

Was something in the way while you were closing the top? Pretty scary to have that happen and always have been told it's a risk with hardtop convertibles

Nope nothing was around me, i was in an empty parking lot.
I'd take it to another dealer and have it diagnosed again. Seems very odd that they cannot figure out what happened. If you did everything correct and it failed, I would do everything I could to make Lexus aware of the problem and get them to cover some, if not all of the costs in getting it functional again. Having an isc with a non- functioning top is unacceptable to me. The car would not be worth having, IMHO.

What year/mileage is your vehicle? I know with most automotive manufacturers they will do a "goodwill" repair for most people outside of warranty that costs significantly less. For example, my aunt had a 1999 Ford Contour V6 that bent a rod outside of warranty. Ford replaced her engine with a new one and it cost her 10% of what the bill would have been (around $400) and they gave her a complementary powertrain warranty. Needless to say, when it was time to purchase another car she stayed within the FoMoCo brands. If I understand correctly, the cost is split between you, the mfr, and the dealership. It may be worth inquiring about. A convertible with a broken top is no fun. Good luck!
