Default Disappointed with custom mode

I hope Lexus fixes this one day, via software update.

I set custom mode for powertrain -> power and even in this setup the car is already in 8th gear at 45 mph. I don't get it. I guess the only thing that Power mode does is avoid the Atkinson cycle, nothing else. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Now, I could use Sport+ but I'd like to keep the Chassis in comfort mode for my daily drive.

Am I missing something?

I believe that after you start driving more aggressively (in the same trip), the ECU will adapt and put you in a lower gear more often.

For myself, eco is what I use for heavy to medium traffic. Sport S seems to keep the car really comfortable in light traffic days. Sport + if I'm going to push it hard on a road with no traffic. Normal/Custom seem like they're uneccessary to me

Let's be positive. This is an opportunity for Lexus to release software improvements. A better way to customize the car.

I use normal every day because of the AC. I can get the car to shift at low rpm in normal while not losing the extra cold blast from the AC. Eco limits AC a bit to help with efficiency but its getting hotter than two hamsters farting in a wool sock.
