That’s what I was thinking, thanks for the reply back. I have 250 miles on mine now damn what a great car. So glad we purchased it we do miss the X3 m40i a little especially in heavy rain it was a tank, but I think we’re really going to enjoy this car this summer.

Great review, right down to the detail about the bumper seperation, now that iis someone that does his work instead of the losers that spew crap because they know nothing
I love Brian’s reviews! He was one of the first reviewers in 2022 to get the ethos and intent behind the 500 correct. He even defended his review against that stupid Sam Champion, who did nothing but trash the car before selling it. Thankfully, most ignored him and bought the car anyway.

Picked up 315/500. Still breaking it in, only 100 miles on her! This car is sweet. Got rid of my C7 about 5 years ago and my DD has been a pickup ever since. Won't be driving this in the winter, but its nice to get back to driving a fun car!

One comment he made which I really didn't pay too much attention in the past to is the low seating position. I took a colleague out for coffee the other day and his first reaction was that he couldn't see the front of the car, and I mentioned that's as much due to the low seating position as it is to the bulge to accommodate the V8. LOL. Personally, I really like the low seating position.

^^ I hope you told him to use the seat adjustments a bit to raise him a bit - worse comes to worse, tell him to ride sitting on your lap (lol)

The mark of a GREAT reviewer, they’ll provide useful tips for the masses. 😎

If you can deal with the ads, this is a nice writeup on the IS 500.

That was a great write up. This guy gets it and he's an M3 guy.

The IS 500 is a flawed car but it's still so damn good. Next month will be my 2 year anniversary of owning this car and I'm so glad I bought it.

You summed it up beautifully. As an M2C was my previous car, I have 0 interest in going back to and BMW M products after the IS500.

If the IS 500 never came out I would either be in an M2 or M3. I just love the way the M2 looks. Never test drove one though.

You are talking about the F87 model and not the G87, right?

The current gen one. I used to know BMW chassis codes in and out but I forget these days.

I see there's a special edition M2 for 2026. It's about 100 lbs lighter and more powerful. It probably has a harsh and punishing ride but I just think it's such a cool little car.

I wanted a purple one so bad but the IS 500 swept me away.
