Default Side skirt damage

I was washing my car yesterday and I noticed a small dent close to the rocker panel on the side skirt. This looks to be damage somehow but barely any paint abraision. It could be from a lift but there is a minor scratch from the side. My question is - the side skirt piece, this is plastic right? This isn’t considered a dent in the frame/rocker panel. The rocker panel and everything doesn’t look to appear dented below, and the opposite side doesn’t have any damage. Driver side rear passenger area

I think the dent is only the plastic part, but with this being a black car, I can see how it would be less clear.

This should be something you could have replaced and be good as new.

It potentially could be a lift but is it close to the lift points? The fact it is scratched a bit, i am more inclined to think you drove over something or a road debris flew from under and whacked it.

I could be wrong, and sorry if i am, but didnt you have a damaged skirt on your white lexus before? Unless i am mixing you with another forum member

As arentz said, it can be replaced as i doubt it can be repaired (at least for cheaper than buying a new piece)

Thank you haha I know it was a silly question but if you google rocker panel dent, a lot of crazy stuff will come up.

No biggie if easily fixable, thanks!

I agree if there was no paint damage, then I would say lift but I honestly do not know where the lift area is. I think since there is a scratch like above the debt, I probably went over something like a tree branch. I think since it’s legit on the side skirt where both sides are exposed and it’s plastic, I don’t see why pdr won’t work. I’m gonna go in and ask tomorrow. I don’t care to fix the Mini scratch especially down there, that is unavoidable.

I didn’t realize rocker panels were this weird

The lift area can be seen underneath by looling where the pinch welds are, and if you look under the car, you will see them easily because there will be cut outs on the bottom of the sideskirts. They really stand out....

You really need to be careful when you use a floor jack that you position it properly that it doesnt press against the skirt as you lift the car

And also get a rubber hockey puck (with a groove in it) for your floor jack so you don’t butch up your pinch welds

^^ Yes!! I totally agree ... i have that on my scissor lift and they are crucial. I couldnt go back to jacking the car one corner at a time now that i am used to the hydraulic lift, it is a blessing!!

haha yeah I saw that and went down a rabit hole on how dents in rocker panels are actually dents in the frame etc lol. But At least dealer only damaged one side and a cheaper piece of the side skirt. **** happens exactly like you said, im sure something way worse will happen to the car but just hoping it runs to 200k
