Default Best tune for Lexus IS

Hello guys

i have a 2020 IS300 (v6 3.5L) I am debating on what tune company should I go with, I’ve only heard about d3 performance and mforce may I know the difference and which one is better as well as is there a better tuning company for 2gr-fks

Neither one of them personally.

To this day, D3 claims to have cracked the 2017+ ECU, but still haven't seen anyone who successfully tuned the 2GR-FKS.

Mforce are mostly advertising their pop and bangs tune, which automatically steers me away.

Most reputable I think is RR Racing, but they haven't got the ECU cracked yet.

Think I've heard of peoples' engine failing with the pop bang tune from MForce. Not sure if you were going to go for that, you need to remove your cats which I believe they do indicate. The non pop-bang tune seems similar to RR racing where they up the RPM limiter to 7200 and unlock a few extra horses.

Honestly, I don't think any tune is really worth it for the car. Unfortunate, since you have the 350 engine. Maybe RR racing will come out with a tune but I'd wait for them

D3 is full of BS.... they have absolutely NOT cracked the 17-20+ ECU's for the IS tune. Nope. If they're advertising that they're seriously misrepresenting themselves and then some...

The most reputable IS tune is from RR Racing but they have not cracked the ECU's for 17-20 IS models yet. Supposedly they're working on it.

The RR tune does yes. But nothing else. D3 tune doesn't even work for the 17-20 models. However, the RR tune does not exist for the 17-20 models, it only exists for the. 14-16 models (and maybe some 2IS models I'm not sure). Reason being according to RR is, they haven't been able to crack the ECU code on the 17-20s. They're car guys, not tech guys as they explained it so who knows if it'll ever happen.

I’ve seen couple of videos on YouTube and tiktok where people got 0-60 between 5.3-4.8 which is similar power to is350

I can't speak personally, I have a RR racing tune on my 16'. but there are a few people with the D3 tune on the GS fourms with the FKS motor, a new DHP AWD IS here running a 7200RPM rev limit over in the performance section(https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...s350-tune.html) , and a youtube video of a new Canadian AWD IS300 showing a apparently increased 0-60 with the stock rev limit in place.

I'm pretty certain D3 does have the Tune cracked. Where do you Guys get this info from? Have you ever talked to them? I have.

I also have Not heard 1 person who has, it (and I know 4 who do) who does not like it. I have it too. We all love it. Some of you Guys are lol!

Loi's Tune is great if you can meet up with him. To date, no one has been able to get him to do a remote Tune for the 3.5 V6 2GR.

Judging by the look of that gauge cluster, that indeed would be the 2GR-FKS (assuming there's no way to swap the cluster from a newer model into an older one). Very interesting!

I don't understand why people say the D3 tune doesn't work. I I've had it on my 2021 is350 for about 6-7 months? I do have to say that it doesn't turn the car into a beast, which is not expected to, but it does make the car feel more responsive in a fun way. Whether the cost of the tune is worth the few extra hp, that is up to each person, but so far I like the product. Here's a picture of the rpms going past 7k for reference. The tune software allows two settings 7200 and 8k I believe.
