Hey guys so I understeered going into a corner this past weekend and crashed into a fence. The fence had a pole which did most of the damage. From what I can tell, the only major damage is that the lower part of the radiator support assembly is bent inwards touching the radiator but the radiator’s fine and works perfectly. The front impact bar was also bent inwards no more than 3 inches. The bumper obviously destroyed and needs to be replaced. I have some light scratches on the passenger side doors but I think they’ll buff out. The passenger side mirror needs to be replaced. The passenger side front fender is pushed back slightly but the door still opens just with some slight creaking. The hood has a small 1.5in dent on the front. Other than that there’s no damage to the engine or any mechanical components. I’m hoping to find some insight on whether y’all think my car’s a total loss? It’s a 2014 Lexus IS 250 with 111,200 miles. I uploaded some pics of the front crash bar as well. P.s. the dead animal and bottle of alcohol besides my car were already there when I crashed, they’re not mine.
Also my insurance wants to take my car to one of their storage facilities so that the adjuster can go there and look at the car. They want me to remove the plates too. Is that normal cause that seemed a bit weird to me. For all my family’s accidents in the past, they always came to our house to inspect the car.
Hard to say. From the pictures it looks like it's repairable, essentially meaning most of the parts would have to be replaced. But if there is underlying chassis or pillar frame damage that you can't see then it might be totaled.
Side note, I also see a bottle of what looks to be champagne or wine on the ground in the first photo. Assuming it was there before you crashed?
i always find it funny when the young people put plates in the front window. in CA, the plates need to be put on the bumper. being in the window won't get you a break. it really does the opposite and attracts attention/calls attention to you. it's actually one of the worst things you can do. plus it doesn't look nice. so PSA. put it on the bumper or if not, not at all.

Did you notice how the front end of this car doesn't exactly have a nice place to put a plate right now? Kind of a moot point.
But yeah honestly the damage isn't horrible, bad... but not unfixable. Just from a cursory glance. Honestly, it is up to your insurance anyway.
