Seems crazy. Took delivery of 2022 F-Sport today and neither key fobs will lock or unlock or open trunk. Car starts of course, locks using the door handles … but key fob does nothing. The little red light on the fob does blink when I depress one of the lock/unlock/trunk buttons.

called the tech advisor and she was shocked. Said would have to show the video I took to master tech Monday and come get the car.

anything maybe we’re missing here?? The key fob oughtta lock/unlock/open trunk right?

Valet button pushed? I don't know the 3IS but for most other Lexus that would be the answer. Usually a button that is in your glove box

Does the trunk pop open normally with the lever from inside the car? Did you try toggling the valet button on and off?

Yes the trunk pops open from the lever inside and the button on the trunk lid. It’s not just the trunk button on the key fob not working—it’s the Lock and Unlock that also do nothing. Appreciate your help!

When you toggle the valet button does the trunk pop inside the car stop working (as it should)?

Yes when I toggle the button in the glovebox the trunk open button next to the steering column does not pop the trunk lid.

On my fob, I have to press and hold the trunk button before it will function.

Right, it doesn’t work. Neither does the Lock or Unlock or Panic buttons. No buttons on either of the brand new key fobs work.

Correction: the buttons all “work” in that the little red light on the key fobs light up when the buttons are pressed. It’s just that nothing happens with the car—no doors locking or unlocking, no trunk popping, and no panic alarm. And to be sure, yes the car starts with both key fobs inside and I am able to lock and unlock by the exterior door handles with either key fob on my person.

So this is a brand new car that was purchased from a Lexus dealership, correct? Why not just take it back to the dealership? They will have to hook their system up to verify the keys are set up correctly.

Correct. Yes it likely will come to that. Was hoping there was something that the Tech Advisor wasn’t aware of that someone in here would be. Like a setting or something.

Update.
Back from 1 day in service. Techs notes exactly:

“Found the wireless function turned off in customized settings. Turned on the wireless function.”

Easy peasy.
