Default Tanabe production design change or mistake

Hello people, again. I had the RC tanabe put on my IS350 recently and noticed something interesting. My quad tips share the same singular outlet hole from the muffler, with each tip half overlapping the muffler exit hole. Old pictures I found dont appear to show this. In other people's tanabe pictures the quad tips seem to properly be connected their own exit from the muffler. Not sure if mine is a mistake or the design changed. For what its worth Im also trouble shooting some nasty vibrations/drone from the supposedly quite Tanabe in the 2kRPM range. See pics.

My exhaust -

From another member and from Tanabe's site - it could be the angle but it seems they have the proper amount of holes coming out of the muffler for the tips

I think what you’re seeing is the difference in lighting between your pics and the others. Your pics are right up in the exhaust and the others are several feet back. It’s so dark inside the tips in the other photos I can’t tell either way.

Hum, I do agree that yours looks weird, I've often seen Y pipes exiting the muffler for dual tips, but yours actually looks like a single exit muffler where 2 pipes were welded to. Pretty sure it should not be like this, you might wanna enquire with Tanabe.

Clearly your system doesn't look like the traditional RC350 Tanabe exhaust, which has a separate tube for each tip. Bummer if that's a cheap design change.

That only shows the exterior. Those 2 tips are separate, but it’s possible there’s still only 1 outlet for both inside the mufflers, which this photo does not show.

Does it really matter whether both exhaust tips have their own tubes through the muffler considering the muffler inlet is only 1 tube? My E92 M3 had quad exhausts but only one tip on each side was fed by the main exhaust inlet. I’m just not sure this is a thing to make such a big deal over. No ones looking up your tubes so who cares as long as it works, sounds good, and fits

Not their first time.... years ago I bought a Tanebe front strut bar, checked that it fits my 2014 IS and when I received them,
it did not fit at all. LOL.

This one a bit trickier because the IS C was still in production for 2014 and that's based off of the 2IS, quite a few owners had that issue early on with the 2014 3IS

Tanabe recently changed being produced in China now instead of Japan. The A ending model number is normally the indicator along with no longer is there a plaque on thee Mufflers saying made in Japan

I sold it and got the TOM'S model instead. Problem solved.
