Default Fourth Brake light wiring help

Hello,

Just want to preface this by saying I am completely new to car modification. I literally have no idea what I'm doing but I'm trying to learn.

I bought a rear diffuser from MV Tuning which has a brake light on it, but no instructions. I have a 2015 IS350 FSport AWD.

I figure I'll just learn as I go along while trying to do it myself.

The brake light has 3 wires coming from it: white, red, and yellow.

Before I even attempt this I wanted to research and make sure I get as much info as possible.

Does anybody have pics of what the wires look like coming out of the tail light? Do I simply wire the matching colors (assuming white, red, and yellow are the colors that come out of the tail light).

What else would I need exactly to do this? The wires coming out are short, so I know I need an extension wire. Is it correct to buy 14 gauge wire and 3 T-Taps ?

Thanks!

(I tried talking to the guys at MV Tuning but due to the language barrier it's very difficult. I figured people on this forum would know how to do this)

Did MV Tuning tell you what the 3 wires on the diffuser light are? That's gonna be crucial to know so you know what to connect them to on the car.
Do you know what bulb is in the light for the diffuser? Is it an LED? Or a conventional bulb (and what type)?

The taillight connector on the IS, for the purposes of your question, has 3 wires on the 6 pin connector.
Pin 2 is Black, and is the Power for the Brake lights.
Pin 3 is Violet, and is the Power for the Taillights.
Pin 6 is White with a Black Stripe, which is the Ground for the two wires above (Pins 2 and 3).
All the lights are LED's.

Let's assume the diffuser bulb is an 1157 bulb, which has two elements, one for the Taillight and one for the Brake Light.
The Taillight wire would connect to the Violet wire on the car, the Brake light wire to the Black wire on the car, and the Ground wire to the Ground wire on the car.

Without knowing what the White, Red, and Yellow wires represent on the diffuser, there are six possible combinations to connect the three wires...but only one will work.
You could assume that Red is the Brake power, White is the Ground, and Yellow is the Taillight power...but I could also be assuming completely wrong too, and probably am.

Okay, I will try my best to see if I can get that info.

Once I figure out how the wires match up, I would just buy any 14g wire and any "T-Taps" on amazon and I'm good to go, right?

White Wire - Minus (this is most likely ground)
Yellow Wire - Plus (constant light mode assuming you will tap into the tail lights constant power)
Violet/Red - Plus (blink mode assuming you will tap into the brake lights power)

This is off the MV Tuning website for the F1 style diffuser, assuming this is what you purchased.

omg thanks. for some reason i thought i had checked the website already. stupid me.

======

okay so this is from the website:

Brake light connetion:
White wire - minus (mass)
Yellow wire - plus (constant light mode)
Violet wire - plus (blinking mode)

Brake light operation is possible in two modes: Constant and blinking mode.

When connecting the stop signal of the diffuser to the stop signal of the car headlight, the "insert" is made into a green wire with a white stripe going to plus and a black wire going to minus.

======

So, given that it says I violet is blink, yellow is constant, and white is ground.

If i want it to blink when i brake and stay on afterwards, do I simply connect:

violet to brake power (black)
yellow to tail light power (violet)
white to ground (white with black stripe)

I would try connecting the yellow and white wires first and see how it functions.
If they have a blink mode, then there must be a small circuit board inside the light assembly that controls that.
They could mean the blink mode flashes the light 3 times and then goes solid.
