No hyperflashing upfront with the triple beams!

I didn't check them for heat. From the outside of the housing, it didn't feel hotter than usual.

They are absolutely perfect! They're definitely super bright!

Honestly I couldn't notice a difference in color between the incandescence and the LED. I know that in person you can definitely tell they are LED now. Now I am finished! YaaaaY!

They draw about the same power as the original bulb which prevents hyperflash. 21 watts in a resistor that small is a recipe for fire IMO.

Why would the physical size of the resistor matter? The ohms is what matters

Perfect! I’ll be getting these myself. Thank you for testing and sharing the results.

No the wattage per area matters. The smaller the resistor at the same power dissipation the higher the temperature which means a higher and higher risk of reaching flash point.

Please don’t take this as a backhanded question. I’m genuinely curious as you seem to know more about this than I. Could you please elaborate a bit more? I guess my main question is this, assuming I just use my blinker for like a minute or two at a light, and then don’t use it again for another 5 minutes or so, is there any real risk? I understand your concern as it relates to prolonged usage. I just don’t know that it’s something we should worry about for minimal usage. Thanks in advance.

I'm not saying I know more than you. I only stated why a small resistor is a higher fire hazard risk versus a larger one when they both dissipate the same amount of energy. I personally will not use any bulb that sinks 21 watts of heat in the base of the bulb.

All I know is that I went through a serious amount of reviews, and no one mentioned a fire. I also don't expect to be using them for extended periods of time....
I'm sure they would hyper flash, long before they catch on fire.

As the packaging says, you can also use a 168 or 2825 bulb. Please note that under the same product number there seem to be two variations. There are some that 1.0W and some that are 0.5W. If you order online you have no idea of knowing which you will receive. Alternatively you can just go in store and check the packaging.
Thank you so much.
Does it matter 1W vs .5W beyond personal preference of brightness?

And truthfully, for me at least, the reason for upgrading them is making the car feel like the $55,000 car that it is. There's no reason why some $20,000 cars have full LED lights, but a $55,000 car makes you pay $1250 to get LEDs in the front, but you still have no OEM way of getting LEDs in the back.[/QUOTE]
Makes sense, that’s how I feel about wireless charging, memory seats, and crappy ventilated seats.

Aside from the wattage/brightness, there is no difference. They should both be the same color temperature. If you want a less bright look, get the 0.5W, especially since there are A LOT of lights in the IS. But if you want your car to be able to be seen from the International Space Station (yes please for me) get the 1.0W.

Thanks. The ZEVO version was 1W and the NON ZEVO was 0.5W at Oreilly I installed the 1W on the doors and in the trunk. The illumination in the trunk is a slight improvement in brightness. The led is fine on its own but it can’t overpower the beefy diffuser. However, color temperature is so much better. The door lights on the other hand are significantly brighter.

thanks again for the advice!
