Hi guys, I just picked up my new to me 2016 is300 last week. I have noticed on both side mirrors, this blue sort of tint along the edge of it. I know the side mirrors are auto dimming, but is this blue tint normal only along the bottom edge? if this is a problem, it is best I take the car back to the lexus dealer now rather than later since it is a preowned car. didn't notice this when I bought the car.
I didn't notice any changes to the mirror when the rearview mirror was turned off or not, but this was in the day time so that is likely why.
I don't have a 2016, but this doesn't look normal.
It's like the Electrochromic portion is bleeding through the mirror glass.
If you've ever noticed a BMW where the side mirror is partially bronze, it's basically the same failure occurring...just happens to be blue on the Lexus.

Thank you all for your responses. I have called my sales person and brought this up with him. Waiting to hopefully hear from him tomorrow. Let's hope they fix it.
A repair like this should be covered by the 4yr/80K warranty...which you might (probably are) over.
It's based on when the vehicle was registered to the first owner.

yeah I am over. I took delivery of the car with 81,000km on it. I’m going try and see if I can get them to do it considering I noticed this two days after taking delivery.
Funny enough, when test driving my dad told me to check and make sure the sunroof works and everything. Sales person chimes in saying that they don’t sell crap and everything works lol. So might have to throw that in if they’re giving me a hard time. We will see. Let’s hope for the best. There’s a reason we bought the car from Lexus and not sir scams a lot premium fine cars down the block.
