Default Scratched Side Mirror Tint

It looks like the person that last detailed my 2011 RX 350 left a nice 1" scratch in the tint on the driver side mirror. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?
I cringe now every time I use the mirror as it's right in the center of my line of site.

I should clarify that tint might not be an accurate term. The scratch is in the material that Lexus uses for the auto dimming feature on the side mirrors.

There is not much you can do beside replacing the mirror. parts and labor for a new mirror is about $600, ask the detail shop to pay for it.

Are you sure the electrochromic layer was scratched? I always thought it was sandwiched between two layers of glass. I've detailed my 2001 GS numerous times and the electrochromic mirror surfaces are just glass. Check that "scratch" again (and again) please. Just trying to save you an expensive repair as was pointed out.

This has been my experience with many things that looked like scratches. They can be removed. I have never worked on the mirror surfaces. But, I have used Meguiar's ScratchX 2 on other surfaces on prior cars to remove small problems. Sometimes a good quality cleaner will work and can be a safer first step.

The detailing section is full of people with scratches on the windshieild or windows. While there are plenty of things that can remove scratches the prevailing thought is to take it to a glass restoration place and get their opinion before doing anything. Lots of sad tales of people trying somthing and making it worse unfortunately. Can you feel the scratch with your fingernail? If not it may be somthing that can be removed.
