I had those on my last IS, and they were a great performing tire that lasted long. But I didn't like the look of the side treads wrapping around the edges and becoming more visible than what most stock IS's had. Now I hear Michelin redesigned the tire, but haven't been able to confirm that in person. In your images, they look a lot like the old ones, with maybe a slightly less aggressive tread wrapping around the edges. Comments? Confirm? I'm due for new tires...
Not sure exactly. I know compared to the Potenzas that were OE, these have more beefy-looking side walls that are more perpendicular to the ground. These certainly don't have the ultra-aggressive tread blocks like on my former 2016 IS's BFGoodrich G-Force Comp-2 AS tires... Though I will say the PS4S also doesn't look very aggressive either. But boy does it drive great.

That is what I was wondering about.... the ride. I hate the stock Bridgestones. I might replace mine after Christmas with only 11k on the car. My wife drives the car a lot so was looking for a more all around tire not just Summer sport. Looking at Michelin PS4S and some Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate a/s options, since I am a USAA member.

If you want performance, go Michelin PS4S. If you want all-around, maybe consider other options. While I don't think the noise and comfort is a downgrade from the stock tire, necessarily, there are certainly quieter options on the market, probably outside the Max Performance Summer Tire space.
I ran Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate on my GTI; great tire. Very refined and yet, felt sporty in the turns.

That is great to know. I have had good luck with Goodyear summer high performance tires on my Camaro and Trans Am in the past and the price I can get them for with my USAA discount makes them very very enticing! Turns are a concern for me because the stock ones just feel loose to me. I installed the RCF lower control bushings which helped but I feel like the stock tires just dont have it....

Check out the design of the new PS5 A/S tires to see if you like them. Michelin has the Summer PS5S on deck, but have not released them to the market. Since you’re not necessarily looking for Summer, definitely check out the PS5 A/S.

Not to turn this into a tire thread, but... I don't think those tires are available in the US yet. (Neither the Pilot Sport 5 nor the Pilot Sport All Season 5.) So if the tires are needed soon, probably best to go ahead and grab a set of Pilot Sport All Season 4.
I don't have personal experience with those, but have generally heard good things. It is definitely a more sporty tire than most if that's what you like.

Ah…I thought the PS5 A/S were available, but the supply chain issues affected the PS5S’ production.
Interesting side note, I cannot get the stock Bridgestone Turanzas to come up on any tire-building website like America's Tire. I wonder if they are goners. The 2023's all seem to be coming with the Potenzas, so maybe they are a discontinued tire?
Speaking of the Turanzas, I will go out on a limb and say the current iteration I have on my 2020 IS have actually been a great improvement over the ones I had on my 2008 IS. They are quieter, tram-line much less, and have lasted a lot longer. Still not the greatest tire, but I like the appearance of them more than anything else out there.
Fistly, these are RGB and have 3 modes: strobe to beat, breathe, color selection. They were 20$ so I figured why not? When people who love their cars take the time to do things right, here is the kind of result to expect. You can't see it in the picture but the wires tuck in the armrest hinges and lighs start under the backseat vent. It took removing a few panels (rear vent cap, under steering and glovebox to hide the light before they run the footstep).
Now before everyone goes off saying doing it right would be to hire pros to install a 1000$+ ambient light upgrade that doesn't exist (I say this because a fellow clublexus terd criticized me for putting 2000$ TSWs on a 50000$ lexus) or be imaginitive and appreciate how fun this is at night. It's not about the cost of things and looks dope and isn't in your face or distracting. Message me if you want deets on how I installed and link to amazon.

I like it. And nothing wrong with upgrading your wheels to do your aesthetic, not sure what all that was about.
Took the IS 350 out today to play with the new tires some more. They pass the "floor it while turning left onto a road" test. TC light lit up, but I didn't hear or feel anything to indicate it happened. So, that already makes them a lot better than the OE Potenzas. Handling is great, too, especially the on-center feel. Noise seems about the same as the Potenzas, but has a more mid-range tone to it. So I had to adjust the EQ on the sound system to give me a little more bass and mid. All in all, this tire feels right for this car. It should have come with these from new.
Nice move on the tires! I will prob run those on my summers. The wheel thing was someone who was probably just "jelly" hating on my choice on TSW Nurimburgring wheels on another post of mine and then trying to sell me used bags from a 2016 IS250 and telling me I can run RWD spring on an AWD no problem. I don't sweat people you DKWTF they're talking about..
I'm excited to get the pics up with the summer rims and 1+ inch drop! Stay tuned...
Here are those rims BTW. I personally think they're fly 🪰 so I don't see why buddy went all hatred on them.
Here's today back on stock rims for the winter with some new additions.
Please give me some feedback on what you guys think or recommend I do next.
NIA front splitter and sideskirts are on the grocery list 😀 just trying to figure out reasonable shipping to Canada and cooperation from them.
