I purchased the Roadtop version for my 2015 IS with the joystick. The install wasn't too bad. I tucked the unit behind the glove box. It's a little buggy when it comes to moving around on the icons but as soon as I plug the usb into my iPhone carplay comes up. It also works the same over wifi as well. Boot up is very quick. The main reason I wanted carplay was because of maps and the nice interface over stock. I'm pretty satisfied with it for $270. I didn't expect it to be perfect but I hope they can come out with firmware updates to solve some of these little issues with the joystick down the road.

Does your joystick controlling Lexus menu in the background I was told this was normally? Does your harness come with this black connectors. I’d appreciate it if you provide some feedback because you have exact screen size and joystick as mine. I’m still trying to troubleshoot my unit, Carlinkit said they have a special cable just for my car but they want me to pay $30 for shipping I find this ridiculous since it’s their mistake.
Wow they are charging you $30, that’s definitely not cool. Road top sent me my cables dhl express for free. Also I don’t believe it should be controlling the OEM infotainment in carplay mode

Yeah I was pretty pissed. they said it’s a special cable they had to custom made for my car and cable is free but DHL shipping I have to pay. If I accept standard shipping it will be no charge but it will take one month to receive. I should’ve bought Road Top version. Do you happen to have a video of your joystick movement? Does the pointer stick to icons in CarPlay or it moves freely like a mouse icon in computer?

It doesn't control the background Lexus menu when carplay is open. It only does when I switch to out of carplay. My car did come with the small black connectors and I had run the can control connector to the split screen display for it to work, even though we have the older style display.

You mean the same black connectors that was labeled “high new split display” and plugged it to “can control” connector right? DIP Switches are also 2345 ON the rest OFF?
You also didn’t have to hook up this display cable? I should’ve bought Road Top version from the beginning my stupid mistake. It looks like I have same CAN connection hooked up but it’s messing up my joystick.

Yes those black connectors labeled “high new split display” and plugged into “can control” connector. I also have the dip switches the same as you 2345 on and the rest off. The dip switches I set off of your picture you posted of the instructions. My instructions didn't have our screen size and joystick option for some reason. I messed around with different combinations and 2345 on and the rest off worked the best. It did come with that display cable you have pictured but I did not need to hook it up.
Has anyone tried the add on unit from 4x4shop.ca? Is it just the same box as people are getting from China? This is not the screen replacement unit in the other thread.
Also I was considering VLINE2 but doesn’t appear they have a unit that support a 2017 IS with navigation. I emailed them to confirm.
EDIT: Just got a response from GROM on the VLINE2. They indicated that support for 2017 IS with Navigation will be coming in a few weeks. They are just waiting for a new wiring harness.

You also have “old car no split display” with loop back connector just like this?
