Personally I really like the sound of the apexi midpipe. But I think it’s around $1400. Nice deep tone, not too loud or raspy. I would like to pair it with a tanabe medallion.

I dunno bout dude saying you can get a midpipe for 500. Maybe for a cheap invidia and if you live in the US.

but hey the dollar is actually worth .72 cents right now 😂😂

Literally someone in their 1st week of welding class can take care of this for you. I even had one to self-teach when I was in a shop but never got around to it. Then my back said pick another profession lol.

Call the chain muffler place. For simple stuff I want cheap I do the same. I had Midas install my axle back.

You don't need some +$1000 shiny metal pipes under the car. I'd love for someone to show me some significant difference between that and $20 of exhaust pipe for a resonator delete.

Here's the resonator delete on our 250, paired with the invidia catback.

Very little to no drone, no rasp.

The quotes are definitely really high, but that might be the norm in your area. I personally paid $80 for a resonator delete here in California on my 200T, piping and labor included. It is just like the 350s where it's dual resonator so they cut and welded 2 pipes, one on each side.

Yea I straight up don’t get how 1 shop in North America can charge $80 for it and in my city I can’t find someone willing to do it for less than $230. I get everything in Canada is more expensive, I get it’s a smaller city but I’m blown away that to make a few cuts and weld in 2 pipes is $200+. I’ve called everything from custom exhaust shops to the chain muffler places and still not getting a decent price.

Not sure if I should say screw it and forget about it, if I should start haggling and calling places out for being so expensive, or if I should just wait for the Can/USA border to reopen and get the remark muffler delete for $400ish CAD.

All I want is my IS to have a little bit more growl!!!

Ya that's super frustrating. What you could also do is buy a non resonated mid pipe for a bit more than the resonator delete and install it yourself to save on labor. You can always resell the midpipe in the future if you get rid of the car to get some of your money back. Or you could do the Remark like you said.

A muffler delete and resonator delete will sound very different from each other so just make sure you know which you prefer before buying anything.

Thanks for the advice. I just wanted a tiny bit more exhaust note, From what I’ve read/heard the muffler delete on a 350 is LOUD and drones like crazy. Going to try a few more places for the resonator delete, if I can’t find a place to do it for less than $200 I’ll just wait until borders reopen, drive over to the USA and bite the bullet for a proper midpipe or maybe even a catback.

Muffler delete would be obnoxious imo.

A bit more growl....you want new mufflers or an axle back i think. Even with res delete your still bottle necked at the mufflers. The current resonators have a decent deep growl to them. I have axle back and stock res. I may loose the red but ill loose some deepness I know

What would you describe the noise increase from a res delete as? More rasp? Higher pitched? What aspect of the exhaust note would increase?

Also what axel back do you have and how noticeable over stock would you say it is?

Well that video above is a 250 with invida axle back, ans res delete. Thats all I have to go off of since I have invidia axle back (on a 350). I still have my resonators.
There are other videos of people reving their parked cars with axle back and res delete but the driving videos are where you really get a sense of the sound imo.

To me, it sounds like a lot lounder than I though, but it got a higher pitch to it. Not raspy right but more so than mine. Of course, some consideration for 250 vs 350. But it seems to me the res delete after axle back gave it more higher pitch rasp. It also sounds less unique imo. I'm not downing it, I may do it myself.

My 350 (you have a 350 I think I remember) with the invidia axle back basically enhanced the stock sound in some ways. So stock WOT around 4500 rpms you get that nice little growl....my axle back took that sound and enhanced it, and spread it out across wider range of rpms. Louder and deeper
..but still sounds like a Lexus. Difference is significant, I'd confidently guess more significant than if I did a res delete with stock axle back. Cold starts are pretty quiet, and anything under 3500 rpms. really. The cold start in thst video i mentioned is nothing like mine.
