But why is the Lexus Memory System (presets for seat position, mirrors and steering wheel no longer available on all IS models. The Kia Optima has them....

definitely. Once I saw the 2021's muscular stance, I had to have it. I personally still prefer the low end torque of my 2020's 2.0 turbo over the added horsepower of the 3.5-liter. But you can no longer get an fsport in the 300 models so I was forced into the 350. The fsports have nicer plastic trim pieces, thicker exhaust tips, staggered and much nicer wheels to fill wheel well and of course the nicer seats and instrumentation.

I'm down for an IS500 F-Sport V8 with RWD and AWD options, and no loss in practicality.

Saw this while at the dealer this weekend picking up a new car... I got an ES. But could've got this for around the same price. Too small for me but it does look sharp in person.

I haven’t followed Lexus very much but I’m interested in this refreshed IS. I’m curious, does Lexus change up the packages or options on a yearly basis or do they stick with same options for several years?

For example, would there be more rim/wheel options next year or do they tend to stick with what they have now for a couple of years?

I got to see the black wheels in person and they look nice but I’ve never been a fan of black wheels. I tend to get sick of them long term. Will those black wheels be the only option for the DHP in the future?

There are trade offs I have to make. I would like the RWD with LSD but can’t get the dark metallic wheels. I can’t get LSD with dark metallic wheels. I can only get regular RWD or AWD to get those wheels.

Like most manufacturers, they shuffle some options around and make minor changes each year. But do not expect a different look on anything exterior. Wheels should stay the same. They were just updated this year and won't see a change for a while. If you don't like black wheels, consider the IS300. Or if you already thought they looked nice, you will likely be fine with them over time.

Visiting local Lexus dealer very impressed by Lexus IS 350 F-Sport in Australia.
