did anyone notice now if you look on cargurus or even dealer websites, they’re getting way more 350s than 300s and it’s exactly what i thought was gonna happen. now that the 350 is an exclusive f sport they’re going to try and sell more of them
Am I crazy? I just swapped my lease for a new UW IS 350 F Sport. The car arrives around the 30th. The one they had in stock was a blue F Sport but had no sunroof; so I said I'd wait for that option. You know for the 2021 models, the sunroof is an option now, not standard like before. I got a pretty good deal and these also come with the dark 19" rims as well. Honestly, I've always wanted the 350, more power so I said, F it. I'll post pictures when it arrives.

Can you share your deal? You are one of the first to report going for it. And I'd assume going from a 300 to a 350 is more than just swapping cars ($). What type of discount did you manage?

I'll give you all the details when I pick it up. And I ended up only paying $40 more a month.
As much as I love Longo Lexus, they are slapping on tacky door edge guard trim on all their new IS's. These 1970's pieces look terrible, and have no place on any sports sedan. But it's a high priced mark-up item, and a old-school marketing tactic that often happens when a dealer gets a hot new model (Keyes does this all the time). "We won't sell you this car above sticker, but you get stuck paying 300% on tacky accessory items."

my mom was looking at cars and asked me to come by and help her. 2k a dealer tried charging her for wheel locks and a plastic trunk tray.... that was like 4000% markup. When I came in and asked what is this s—- the sales guy grabbed the sheet from me and shredded it.

Some dealerships charge for imaginary tint and paint coatings...
I caught a local Kia dealership trying to pull that off on my mother in laws new purchase..
They told there was tint on top of the factory tinted glass..
It was a flat out lie.
Also i don't think Longo is doing anything wrong.. You pay for the product and install labor.. Sure they charge a little extra, but that's what add-ons do... Help with leverage and negotiations...
However some dealerships do it distastefully.. The average consumer just pays for add ons without even asking.. Or they are happy if 1 out of 5 fall for it.
The spread on these Lexus' are NOT what they used to be.

similar story. a female friend of mine was buying the new rav4 when it came out and they tried charging her 4k for a "security system" which they nearly convinced her she needed. i got on the phone and they were so mad in the background "who are you talking to?" and demanded to talk to me. i'm like i'm not talking to you lol... long story short they removed the 4k charge and sold the car as is.
similar to when i bought my CT200h.. a dealer tried to charge $400 for 3M "protective strips" that weren't even ON the car when i agreed to buy it, the dude washing the car as I was going through finance decided to apply them.. i'm like first off i don't want those, they're going in the garbage as soon as i get home, and second off, i looked those up on ebay and the same set is $20.
needless to say i got them to remove the charge.
you can imagine how many people dealers take advantage of. they make next to nothing on the car so there's massive incentive to sell extras.

Longo has always been my favorite. In and out in 30 min with big discount, no haggling. Sucks though that it seems they're pre-installing crap that I'd immediately throw in the garbage when i get home. Nothing i hate more is stickers, clear protective this protective that. I even remove those factory triangles on the lower door -- hideous.
to the dealers credit though, they probably help with test drives when little kids banging doors into poles and other cars. also most people probably don't mind paying for them. on a $45,000 financed purchase, i'll suck it up $100 for those. but beyond that.. leave me alone!
