The only problem is that Tesla was not well developed for northern climate. The quality of the paint is being put to the test with all the chemicals/sand that are being used on our roads. Personally, I think Tesla did a fantastic at bringing the electric car to the mass public and have really forced other car companies to up their games, but personally, I wouldn't get a Tesla (model 3) - I find their interior so boring and cheap looking, simply a big computer screen in the middle...not what turns my crank, but I respect those that like it....
** I should correct my original message - I didn't meant to say "not well developed", but rather, not as well adapted....As a French speaking person, sometime I don't always use the correct terms....My apology for the confusion **
The car is not for everyone for sure. The build quality is no where near Lexus and the interior is very polarizing. I personally LOVE the interior because it has more storage than any car i've ever had due to the entire center console being just a storage unit. Very simplistic design with all the functionality right in front of you on a tablet. So easy to clean As I said, there is a lot of great cars in the segment such as the M340 and G70 so plenty of nice choices to be had for enthusiasts that want to leave Lexus.

Yeah, I agree about Tesla cars. No imagination with the interior and the exterior is boring as well. I get the speed is great, but I still prefer hearing an exhaust note. There will come a time when everything is electric/hybrid and hopefully the design of those future cars are more exciting and well put together. Until then, I'm not paying for soundless speed and a gutted, boring interior.
My guess is October or November. But who knows.....ask your dealership.
I emailed the general manager at my Lexus dealership and he replied that they expect the new IS late Nov or early Dec but that’s just an estimate. He said they would have more accurate estimates in early fall.
(Me) It sounds like we won’t see them earlier than Nov.
The press release says there will be two different 19-inch wheels available on F SPORT models.
Which ones are they showing in all the press photos?
What does the BBS wheel specific with the Dynamic Handling Package look like?

oh yeah I'm not liking the rear end at all. I figured it would come out looking more apart of Lexus' new "design language" (like that term) but they also tried to keep that built-in spoiler look. Didnt work out imo. And the rear brake light beam across the rear, no way dude.
Funny because like I mentioned recently the styling of our current 3IS is time-less and will always be an awesome looking car.
So far it seems much less argued (on here and the real world) that the current IS styling is a beautiful car.
I believe this new refresh will be less commonly agreed to be as good looking of a car. Although people love NEW, I'm not so sold just cause it's more modern/new.
Reminds me of the 17+ facelift taillights and its often seen the 14-16 taillights are more desired. Similar concept happened here with the whole car.
Front end looks good though...more like a coupe I guess maybe. I don't like the narrow-ness of it like the LS or ES.
Coming from a guy who still thinks the 90s or 00s generation still looks best on some Porsche and BMWs (and others) lol.
i want to have my existing f-sport wheels painted or covered with this sort of black-ish chrome. like, black pearl? or whatever those emblems that are sold online are called? i wonder if a really good wheel shop would be able to do it. anyone in the greater san diego area know of a shop that'd be able to do this? or even in OC?
Tail light going all the way across is the new trend of upscale, premium. It means you've arrived. You've made it. Independent tail lights like it or not means you are a dinosaur and stuck in the 2010s.
This my friends is the new supreme high end look of luxury.
The Model 3 Performance is much more of a sports sedan especially with Track Mode. The Model S is faster though...it's 4 wheel rocket.
Yeah maybe the Performance, but I mean, I don't think the Model 3 as a whole is a sport sedan. It's just kinda numb. In its favor, the acceleration is stupid and very addicting, and the steering is pretty good if numb - kinda like BMW steering. I haven't driven a Performance model but the Dual Motor I drove was fun, just didn't feel sporty to me. I keep comparing my GTI to things since it's new to me, but even it has more of a personality in terms of just feeling sporty. The Model 3 is a fun car though, don't get me wrong. It may be one of the best daily drivers on sale right now. I agree with the sentiment that it's not a weekend car though.
Now with respect to the IS, I'll agree, too, that it's ultimately not been tuned to be a track weapon or anything remotely like that. It's designed to be a daily. I think that, for doing the mundane stuff and looking stylish while doing so, it's perfect. It happens to have a really nice chassis setup, but it's not out-and-out sporty. It's a very easy car to drive fast if not the most exciting that exists. And that's fine for a regular or F Sport model. I would love to see them do a send-off to the 3IS with a return of the IS F.

Absolutely horrendous. Especially the BMW’s rear (I’ve always found the 7 series to be so damn ugly) 🤮. Hate this new trend with a passion.
Lexus UX and ES too... and probably LS refresh will get this too! and the new RX! It may be one of those things we look at in disgust now, but love in 10 years.
look how controversial BMW's "Bangle Butt" was in the early 2000s. people were screaming.
now look at this design coming back... evident in the 2021 IS.
