Are they? I am actually grateful the F Sport gets them, since it takes the car from having an appearance package to something that actually improves performance - pairs nicely with the amazing F Sport seats lol.

Mileage may vary, but I had this same issue, replaced with akebono pads, have not had the issue since. also, the god awful brake dust is heavily minimized now. And since I'm not tracking this car, I can say that I haven't noticed ANY discernible difference in braking. Is it scientific? No. Is it real world use? Yup. And for the record, I've owned much more aggressive sports cars with far more aggressive pads, bbk, etc. and I've not had the issue with brake squeal that my Lexus stock pads had.

Disc brakes sqeak from time to time. Definitely more when cold and on semi metallic. That's pretty much the whole story as I know it.

Didn't know about the shim issue though, so maybe not the whole story haha.

When cleaning brakes I was taught to not only use brake cleaner like many do....but take a wire brush to everything and brake cleaner to supplement.
And they penny sized smear of grease goes a long long way.

When it comes time to replace the pads on my IS, I'll definitely go with the Akebonos. I've used them on my Jag (huge dust reduction) and on my old ES. Been happy with both, no reason not to expect similar results on the IS.

I’m talking about anything more than the stock pads. The braking on the IS is worse than my G37S which was disappointing, the only difference was that the G37S has 2 piston rear brake calipers but I was running the Akebono ASP’s on it and the brake power was amazing with those pads. I didn’t like how crappy the IS braked even with the F Sport pads. I’ve gotten used to it now but I still sometimes miss that much better braking from my G37S not to mention the HP haha.

I had this sound on my 2010 250 when I would reverse out of a parking spot in the morning.

i have replaced both rotors and pads with OEM ones. Next thing I’m trying is getting ceramic pads. Anyone has this issue?

I had the same issue even after using Lexus pads and shims. I put this stuff on both sides of all shims and that solved my problem. I wouldn’t recommend using it on the pins though, I’ve heard it gets sticky after time.

Just make sure you clean any rust off the hub face. If you can get a hold of a dial indicator you can also check to see if the hub is bent. Sorry to pop into the conversation without reading the entire post.
