Acceleration Delay?
Hey guys, been on this forum a LONG time but it’s been a while! I’ve had maybe 20 Lexus vehicles through leases between my wife and myself. Currently she has a 2018 Nx200t and I have a 2018 IS300. Here’s the problem, when I step on the gas on the IS no matter what mode I’m in, there’s a bit of a delay, almost a sputter, before the car engages. I use good gas and doesn’t help. My wife’s car is like instant acceleration in all modes. Hit gas, car goes! Same engine, same turbo, but there’s a lag on mine. Dealer said that’s just how it is but I wanna know if anyone else experiences this. Wife drove my car and was like wtf!?!? Cheers!

That’s interesting to hear. I’ve HEARD of turbo lag but this is my first turbo, other than my wife’s last 2 Nx200’s, so I’d didn’t even realize what it was! The Nx has no lag at all but if they slowed it down like you say....then that sucks!

Trust me I know. I got used to it so it doesn’t bother me. A piggyback tuner makes the car much more peppier.

If both cars are using the same motor and you feel a difference I would pull the battery cables to reset the ECU so it can relearn. When I bought my Lexus I found out they put 87 in instead of 93. There is a lot about knock correction learn value. Also, it not the turbo lag as much as it's throttle control. Lexus in order to control torque only allows the throttle to open to 70% until like 3500 RPM.
