Default Black Front Emblem

Does anyone know where to get this emblem (or similar) for less than the $136 this seller is asking?

Amazon page link Amazon page link

I just don't see why the price is so high for an after market part of this nature.

ebay $135 LOL
You would not find anything less than that, unless someone is selling it used. I bought mine from ebay, from the same seller for $115. At the time ebay had a $20 off your purchase, but those are rarely to come by now and you really have to wait for it. Its actually an oem part that is black pearl plated.

I had the same question when I looked to buy one ha. It is pricey but looks quality, I didnt know it was oem part.

I settled with a light tinted film over the existing emblem. This gave it like-factory black chrome look.
The film/vinyl is sold for the purpose of tinting headlights.

Any reason it couldn't be used over the chrome trim?

Absolutely not. I believe it was member Tony just did it recently. I followed suit and even wrapped the rear L badge as he had done.

It's a great alternative to straight black chrome delete.

Here you go
front and rear emblem
side chrome trim
DRL
side turn signals
rear tail lights

The tint is very light and you don’t lose much output, maybe 10%. All were done with the lightest grade possible, the rear emblem did have a medium tint to it but it was too dark so I changed it to light tint.
no issue with light output or the radar system behind the front emblem.

I spent about 60 in materials, a good heat gun is highly recommended.

So Tony, for the trim did you just use regular window-tinting material then, and if so what %/spec? It should be thinner and easier to work with than vinyl wrap, yes?

Other way around, vinyl is easier to use. Everything is light smoke vinyl

I haven't handled either, nor ever tried wrapping. Shops here claim the black chrome material is thicker and harder to work with than standard vinyl and as a result double their price (which is already huge). If it and light smoke are similar material, I might as well go straight to the black chrome and try it myself.

black chrome is much harder to use, this is transparent vinyl use for headlights and tail lights and gives you the same effect because you already have a chrome base.

The light smoke I used is the easiest yet. I've only used 4 variations of vinyl now but the transparent vinyl is most forgiving and easiest to work so far.
