Need some help with sidewall being ripped from pothole...
My car is at about 12k miles now and I don't drive aggressive (cruising on highway most of the time and getting stuck in NY traffic), and the inside is already worn because of the camber we have(maybe 3/32" left)....I bet the Potenzas or the PS AS3+ will last longer than the OEM Turanzas lol
So when you buy tires, don't buy directionals.
And I wouldn't bet on different tires lasting that much longer, as it's not really the tire's fault, it's the dynamic toe.
This car will eat ANY tire, just get used to it.
Just remember, if you really want to get the best out of your tires, meaning performance and longevity, you really need to have an alignment every time you replace tires. You might have a place that offers lifetime alignments for a cost as well, if you plan to keep the car.
You got me as to why the Turanza is so expensive, complete trash IMO. I'm sure Lexus buys them for $5 a tire, but I would't pay much more than that for them myself.

And the tires...I don't think it's Lexus jacking the prices up, the tire just cost more outta nowhere coming from Bridgestone, even Amazon
I just meant if someone had a used one they would let go for shipping, just to get you through to when you were going to replace all 4.
My dealership checks my alignment to make sure they are good when I do service, which I just did a month ago, so I should be fine on that.

I'll skip that hassle. Front tire that came with the car has like 3/32" on the inside shoulder(middle and outside are like new :/), which is due to be changed very soon anyways. I guess I'll just go for all 4.
If I was to guess I'd say that, because it's OEM on a $50,000 luxury/sports car, they are betting that a fair number of IS owners are going to replace the tires with OEM...every 10-20,000 miles, and they will make a killing in the end. It's a good bet, actually. The people you see on this board, who mostly know better, probably represent less than 5% of IS owners.

Keep in mind that at 10,000 miles you're supposed to rotate your tires side to side (it's why the Turanza isn't directional). This comes directly from a Lexus tech.
