Default Resonator or Secondary Cats Delete?

As the title says...how would you all choose between a resonator and 2nd cats delete? Checked a few YouTube videos but can't really tell the difference...pros and cons of each?

I'm looking for a deeper sound overall (kinda sound stock when you don't step on it) but don't want too much difference in lower rev range noises, especially the interior drone(I'm okay with what I have now, with the Tsudo axleback)
The lower revs and start-ups has a nice deep tone but the higher rev range(3500+) kinda sounds like stock....
Please excuse me but I'm not really looking for real performance gain (I'll take it if there are any lol), since stock is more than enough for NYC with the traffic we have around here....

Personally I’m more on the secondary cats delete side, it’s less raspy and more gentle...but concerned about inspections.

If you guys have done either one of those with an axleback, please lmk how much you did it for as well so I have a general idea when I do mine...

I would really appreciate the feedbacks!!!

I'm looking into doing a secondary cat delete on my 350. I already have a muffler delete. I want to keep the resonator in to keep the drone and rasp down. But the muffler delete really helps with noise. I'll let you know if I get the cats out. I have some clips of the muffler delete on my instagram. @benji_350f

Appreciate that!!
And you're right, going back to the videos...the one with 2nd cats delete sounds deeper and more gentle(less raspy)

But do you think cutting the 2nd cats out would affect annual inspections or give you a bad exhaust smell?

This is my concern. Dont know how CA smog maybe affected, think they're also a little tight out there too OP. Would like to do delete the 2nd cats if I knew I'd still pass.

May call some smog and muffler shops see if they know unless someone here can offer some insight.

Virginia is quite strict with inspections too. Pretty sure you will fail inspection without all factory cats. But they are after the O2 sensors so you will not throw any codes. I don't know about the smell though. Probably won't be too bad considering there will still be two left

Inspections is also my main concern rn. Do other cars have 2 sets of cats as well? Or just our Lexus? I

As far as I know, (I've owned multiple cars) the lexus has the most cats I've seen. Pretty sure my V8 S4 didn't even have 4

Even if it's after, you can still run the non-foulers and "trick" it to not throwing a code. I've done that on all my cars in the past (Minus the LS) and pass every time.

But then again here in Chicago we only have OBII plug in- no sniffer or visual inspection, if there's no code on the dash, you pass.

oh hey 😂 Didn’t hear it since the video was cold start and rev to 5000. But I don’t go pass 5000 driving in the city anyways and a little rasp when speeding down the highway is fine for me(as long as it’s not all the time for city driving like 3-4K max lol).

Since you’re here, few questions please. Does it smell? Does it drone bad inside the cabin in the lower RPMs(comparing to only the radio axleback)? And how about inspections, any trouble?

No smell at all.

Not much drone either. (The exhaust does have some at low RPM - I dont think deleting the cats plays much of role with the drone)

In Canada we don't need inspections unless the car is +10 yrs old.
No check engine lights so everything is fine.
