Anyone running RSR down springs, I'm wondering what spacers fits it best. I got the H&R DRM 20mm for all around and was wondering if it would rub, if it does, would it be a big deal? Also is the tire wear with RSR down springs the same as stock springs or it would wear out the tire faster? Thanks in advance!

It will wear your tires faster, chamber cant be adjusted without aftermarket arms in the rear.

You will likely be ok with 20mm in the rear, it depends on what tires you have. I had to go 15mm in the rear with my old tires but with my current looks like I could fit 20mm. Fronts will be fine some even go 25mm I believe.

Thanks for the reply!! But okay, I'm currently running Hankook v12 evos which i believe are summer tires. I just went full send and bought the H&R DRM 20mm all around.

Default Mild rattling noise near rear passenger door/maybe trunk?

I have a 2014 IS250.
I notice a very mild rattle as I go over small bumps (and large ones too) that sounds like something is moving inside my trunk.
I completely emptied the trunk and tried to drive but I heard the same noise.
I found out if someone is sitting in that seat, the noise is ALMOST completely eliminated.
Anyone have any idea what this is or had similar issues?
PS it is not noticeable in videos.

okay, i had my old car totaled (see the hydrolocked engine thread for more info on that) and it was lowered on RSR coilovers, so i bought a new 3IS with the money the insurance company gave me and in my garage i have a set of OEM F-Sport lowering springs lying around that i had bought at some point but never installed. I am considering putting them on the new car but can't find clear information or pictures besides one thread from quite a long time ago on whether it's worth it re: how the ride is compared to stock and how much the springs lower the car. i do NOT want to install coilovers on the car again because they are a major pain, nor do i want to install air suspension for the same reason, but i would like a mild drop because the height of the car is bugging me!

anyone running the f-sport springs? or know of someone who can chip in?

oh, also, because i just acquired another 3IS with the turbo 2.0L engine...am i supposed to treat this engine differently? i have never owned a turbocharged engine so i'm coming from NA for forever (i'm not terribly old at 35, but i just haven't owned a turbocharged engine). I've heard that they need to be cooled down for up to two minutes before turning them off after having driven them, but is this something that was a thing when turbochargers were older? has technology progressed to the point that i am able to drive the car as i would a normal car, i.e., driving and then arriving and simply shutting the engine off?

help!

It's supposed to be a 1 inch drop all around...so not a big drop at all. Lightly mild enough that it wouldn't be noticed right away. Driving-wise the vehicle will remain the same since the drop is mild.

If you finish a more spirited session on the road with the vehicle, then I would recommend letting it idle for a minute or two before shutting down...this will give the turbo a chance to cool down slowly.
If you're just puttering around town, I wouldn't be concerned and just shut it down when you arrive at your destination.
Given that it's automatic, it would be somewhat difficult to really put the vehicle through a more spirited drive like you could with a manual transmission.

Thanks, Sasnuke! Greatly appreciated.

Been seeing a lot of IS with the roof spoilers, can someone post a link on where they’re getting it?

Yeah as Sasnuke said, on a normal drive you’re good. If you’re practically almost redlining the car on a drive for extended periods of time on that drive or going up and down hills like crazy you’d want to let it cool down 2 minutes or so before turning it off. The Lexus Manual states this for the 4 banger turbo. But for regular driving and even just a few hard pulls you’ll be fine as usually you’ll be driving normally before you get to your destination so it will cool the turbo down at that time.

I can't say that I've personally seen it, but given the color and shape it would seem to be part of the HVAC venting system...likely a floor vent somewhere. Just a guess though.
Maybe looking at the parts diagram for the HVAC system might point to the specific location.
