Default IS250 Sqeaking Steering Whee (Hood Latch ?)

My car when steering left/right I can hear the mini squeak. Per Lexus dealer they say it's the hood latch. 160 to fix it. It's not a safety issue. What does the latch has to do with the steering wheel squeaking. Sound is very small just mini

That's very odd. Maybe they will tighten the latch? the latch doesn't have a direct connection to the steering that i know of but who knows. Is it at any slight left or right turn or do you have to be at full lock to hear the noise?

as it turn it squeaks. Dealer said it's the hood latch which is odd. I heard it's from the steering wheel though...

Is this when the vehicle is stationary? If so, there's no way this can be a hood latch. Even if the car was moving it couldn't be a hood latch.
I'm so confused I'm going to go rotate the air in my tires and grease my muffler bearing lol

Might want to change the blinker fluid while you are at it.

Seriously, a noise from turning the wheel = hood latch problem?

If you ever removed your steering wheel column cover that is your problem. If you installed a new sport steering wheel there’s contact between the two parts. (Cover and wheel) or it’s your intermediate shaft, there’s u joints on it that squeaks/clunks. Good luck

I would probably check the intermediate shaft where it passes through the firewall...basically where your pedals are.
There's likely a rubber grommet or boot around the shaft the might be dry and need lubrication.

As for the steering wheel contacting the covers, while I've seen this on cars in the past, just having mine all apart last weekend, it's really difficult for this to happen on 3IS.
Something would have to be seriously installed wrong to cause this...but that at point it would blatantly obvious.

I have the same issue with a 2014 IS - 2WD, when i turn a sharp left and drive slowly i hear a loud squeak or howling noise. I don't hear it on the road, and not when not moving. But its very concerning, is it a tie rod, or some part of the steering column or system? Where can i start? I appreciate everyone's help --- positive karma your way!
