Couldn't find the "what you did for your 3IS today" thread--someone should sticky that by the way. On most other car forums, it's stickied. (including even on this forum I think for other lexus models?)
Anyway I couldn't stand the film buildup behind the brake light on the rear glass. Could not sneak a cloth in there. Dawned on me to simply remove it by using my fingers (popped off brake light very easy) and sneak a special glass cleaning tool (something similar) to reach deep down in there. You can use your hands and a rag too but its hard to get in the deep corners. Don't forget to clean the brake light too! Film builds up over time.
Anyway my rear window including most importantly, behind the brake light is now super clear and clean--looks like a million bucks looking through it in the rear view mirror. Just thought I'd share this simple and free/easy tip you can do right now to clean behind the brake light!
Yep! A nice thick milky film. Obvious from the outside. Many of my other cars had it too and I just lived with it. Thankfully Lexus made it easy to pop the rear brake light out.
great idea! has anyone ever delete the third brake light? I know not the safest... but curious how to fill the mounting holes? maybe re upholstering the decklid...

Just so you know:
Technically, you could get a ticket or at least a warning if your third brake light isn't working. Federal law mandates that your car has a third brake light.
