i have the same whine mine 350 AWD, everyone is the same so its normal, my old IS 250 and 350 were the same knock and whine

lol my old 2011 IS350, knocked a bit when the car really warm up, the whine is like whistle, same like my TRD Supercharge from my old Toyota Solara, the thing is, car never died and my old IS250 got all kind of noise, any noise Clublexus member had, my IS250 had it all , i don't know if that because of the IS250 old engine of direct injection or the car was screwed but i compared to my Toyota lol OMG my Solara quiet and smooth like a river and the IS250 noise even My Wife noticed, she told me why this car is so noisy every times i ride her to work, i told her ya that's a LEXUS noise

back to 2011 IS350 AWD , CLexus members said the whine is the AWD and the knock is piston slap or camshaft , and my car DID NOT BURN ENGINE OIL therefore Lexus didn't do anything.

I hear the whine and the knock on every Lexus IS/GS 3.5L engine from 2006 to 2017, havn't checked 2018 , trust me i have good eyes and good ears, maybe you don't hear it bro LOL perhaps yours KNOCK and WHINE too hahaha

OK, some clarification. The noise from the injectors is usually called "clicking" or "ticking". Knock refers to something really bad that happens when you have pre-ignition detonation in the cylinder, which causes damage to the engine, so I wouldn't recommend using that term to describe what you are experiencing. But, the engine definitely makes some characteristic sounds which I do hear.

LOL OK sir hahaha bottom line is, Lexus Engine is so NOISY , just imagine a guy came out from a Toyota Camry Solara 1st Generation into Lexus Direct injection, Acura TL doesn't make that noise so does 2016+ Mercedes C300 from a girl friend of mine.

Trust me bro the Rattling roh roh roh noise from Lexus Engine at low speed low RPM is so loud, i tested other Luxury car they don't make this kind of noise, before i thought something wrong with my old Lexus IS but after i drove the new Generation IS, damn they all the same noise, the noise i have now on my 3rd Gen IS350 is identical to previous generation, probably the 2018 IS350 engine got fixed, i didn't notice the noise due to the new ENgine's Updates from 2018+ model.

It makes me wanna bring my Lexus IS350 and trade for either KIA STINGER GT or Romeo and Juliet car or a C300 Benz/Mustang GT . Bro , we won't notice it when we 1st get the new car because of the excitement of the new ride, we will notice something after awhile or after a year, some drivers are very sensitive they'll hear it after a week or month, the noise that the 2nd Gen IS was mentioning for YEARS yes they are also in 3rd IS except 2018+ as i experienced, trust me i'm not talking about Ticking noise from the Injectors i know how it works, in 2012 Lexus updated Engine internal part like camshaft and piston rings etc, driver still reported back Knock and Burn oil, it just a hit and miss luck or bad luck, look at other competitor they got better Horsepower Engine better suspension with Less price.

I drove LExus IS because i loved the bODY styling and design, thats all nice *** nice **** thats it bro lol will see how the 4th Gen Lexus IS is gonna be like before i decide to hang out with GERMAN and KOREAN girls.

If you are actually experiencing knock, have you taken it to the dealer/mechanic to have it diagnosed?

And my ears work fine... I noticed the direct injection noise from the engine, but nothing else really. If you have other noise there might be a problem.

Ya i was in that Thread i came from 2nd IS, the knock i heard sounds like you knock on solid wood but not constantly, if i closed all my window in the cold day i'll hear it sometimes, the rattling noise can be tolerance ill considering, Timing Chain, Water pump Alternator and Pulley Arm, all the pulley they used in 2nd IS = GARBAGE, back to my 2nd Gen IS250, i came to Clublexus since i had so many problem, when i replaced the water pump i've checked the Bearing in the Pump it was bad just for 120k Miles, and then every pulley started to go bad one after another even pulley arm and then Alternator pulley, and then Transmission issue, it jerky and jump like a horse when it shifts gear, and then i got rid of 2nd Gen IS250 and got 2nd Gen IS350 AWD , the ROh ROh noise still there Transmission jerky was there , the Engine WHine of course was there but mine sounded like Supercharge, just annoying, None of Toyota LExus ever let me down.

Thats why i think Whine Knock Whistle noises are normal for LExus IS so i figured out a way to Fix all this ! , Bought a loud Exhaust and boom all noise GONE lol no more annoying hahaha
