USB Inoperable
Bought a 2014 IS 250 for our daughter. Both USB ports in console appear dead. No output to charge phone, no connection to system to play music, just dead. Have used compressed air to clean, checked for any blown fuses but no positive results. Could it be the module that houses the two USB ports along with the AUX jack?
If this may solve, any help on how to remove? I tried the obvious which appears to be a metal clip inside the little slot to push one way or the other while lifting on the lip of the module to no avail. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you

I really don't think the issue is with the ports themselves. If you feel there isn't a problem with the fuses it might be an incompatability issue. Try using several different cables and even try a different phone cable combination to figure out if it is just your daughters phone or maybe the cable you used. Try a different USB Cable and or phone to see if the problem persists.

Have tried several different cords as well as devices. In the menu where you select the source the USB ports appear shaded as opposed to illuminated like am/fm/ etc.
the appearance of the selection screen is the same when cord plugged in to either of the USB ports as well as when no cord or device is plugged in.

That sounds like the module died and is off line. For your sake I hope it is independent and replaceable.
Go to the yoda TIS website and look at the schematic. It should offer some insight as to the available components.

The USB cable connects the glove box outlets and the Entertainment system control head. It may be disconnected on the control head side.
On my old RX I had the separate XM receiver changed out when it went bad. When the dealership installed the new one. They didn't push the AUX cable all the way back in to the radio. It wouldn't connect. So I had to take it back and have it reconnected.
Also someone may have in the past installed a motion bypass system. And the cables may have come loose taking it in and out.

It's a USB hub. There is chance it probably needs replacing
I would first check to see if the radio had ever been removed before and if it has, see if all connections are connected behind there. Possibly someone forgot to reconnect something if it has been removed before.
A 12pin plug in the rear of the stereo provides power to this USB hub. That's what I would check

If it is a cable loose from the USB ports to the main unit would it also effect the AUX Jack as well? That still works. Maybe the USB ports could be bad while the AUX Jack is still operable?
if I wanted to try swapping mine out of my GX which looks the same does anyone know how to pop it out?

There is 3 plugs going to the aux/USB port from the rear of the stereo.
So yes the aux Jack can work but USB have connections problems or broken internally in the port
How did this turn out? Any resolution? My wife’s 2014 IS 250 is having the same problem. Dealership suggested replacing the module, because they did not have any clue why it was not working. They said it had power. Dealer estimated $300.00, for the part.
Welcome to CL, fix from the cheapest 1st, check your fuses and connector, dealership always recommend to replace the WHOLE CAR. "my friend's 1999 Camry muffler got 2 Holes, his car worth like 1000$ and dealership recommend replacing the whole Exhaust system for 2800$, i brought him to our Shop the Boss charged him 40$ to weld those 2 holes
Took car into Dealer to have new key made so we would have spare. Had them check USB and they said it was dead due to previous owner spilled something into ports. Part was $344 plus labor. I found one from salvage yard on eBay for $150 and thanks to YouTube video took console apart and replaced in about an hour. USB works perfectly now.
