Default Removing Radio Head Unit

Does anyone know how to remove the radio head unit on a 3rd gen IS? I’m thinking the center console trim panel and the two silver side trim pieces will need to be removed to gain access to the retaining bolts.

be careful when following this procedure. there is a screw below the gear lever that holds the center console in place that is not shown in the steps, that needs to be removed. i will take a pic when i remove the head unit again to fit the beatsonic dvd overide unit.

nonetheless i would like to commend the poster of this thread. i found it extremely useful and it gave me the confidence to attempt a diy fitment in the first place.

Here is a pic of the screw i am referring to. I can now also confirm that the beatsonic NT6223 TV Navi controller works like a charm to enable DVD while in motion as well as opening up all the features that are normally blocked while driving.

Wow; great documentation; wonder how difficult a retrofit of what might be the 2015's center console (from the RC) would be!?

Thanks!

Do you have photos of your beatsonic NT6223 TV Navi controller install?

No not my actual install, but I posted a guide on this thread that works exactly the same except for the panel removals.
