I recently bought a used IS and I connected my phone to it, however, it does not automatically connect when I get into the car. Whenever I get in I try to play my music but it takes a few minutes to stop playing through my phone and start playing through my car. How can I get my phone and car to connect right away?

It's normal for the car to wait for the navigation to boot up and then connect to your bluetooth but it shouldn't take couple minutes. It takes me around 15 to 30 seconds.
Get into Bluetooth settings and select default. Delete the car from the phone and also the phone from the car
and then repair. Be sure you completely turn off your phone once a week or so, not daily and not for long,
30 seconds will do fine. Be aware of the difference between streaming music from an App such as Pandora
and playing iTunes that are stored in the phone. The song title/artist/track time will be transferred "indexed" to
the car (not the whole track, different thread on that!) and it takes a bit of time if you have an extensive collection.
If you intend to play primarily stored tunes strongly consider getting an IPod and connect it with a good USB
cable, leave it on and plugged in forever. It will trickle charge when the car is running and play immediately.
Sometimes for me the Enform Apps don't work until I've left my house behind. Seems like it takes a few minutes if I am connected to the Wi-Fi. Maybe try turning Wi-Fi off, if it is on?
Yeah I would remove Pairing devices on both the phone and the stereo Bluetooth settings and re-pair phones with the stereo as if it were newly introduced to each other again.
This usually solves most Bluetooth connectivity issues.
Usually there are hiccups when the phone gets software updates from what I have noticed most of the time.

My phone is updated to the newest IOS, and i've also deleted the bluetooth on both my car and phone and re-connected. When I first get in the car and play music it shows up in my car and I can press skip on my wheel and it will skip the song on my phone but it won't play the music for 3 minutes.
