Traction Control
Does anyone know how to turn off the dynamic traction control. I'd like to have some fun in the snow. The traction control is shut off but the system still cuts the power mid drift so it makes me believe there is still some dynamic control system that's in place.
While at a standstill press and hold the traction control button until you see the yellow/orange traction off light to "fully" turn traction off. I don't think it completely turns it off, but definitely the majority of it.
Only way to completely turn it off is to pull the fuse
Also what you are feeling is the stability control, it turns on at a certain angle of the vehicle vs front wheels.

Interesting! Good to know. Why must Lexus make it so difficult to have fun in the snow. I just want to do donuts in the snow, is that too much to ask for.
You can also do the pedal dance, which is what I did when I found an empty, snowy parking lot last week. Bear in mind that the stability control is also disabled, so make sure you have room to play.
For convenience:
1. With car off, engage parking brake.
2. Start the car.
3. Pump the brake pedal twice.
4. Release and re-engage the parking brake twice.
5. Pump the brake pedal three times.
That's the procedure I use. Sometimes it doesn't register, but if I repeat 4. and 5. again it will usually take.
From what I can tell, holding down the TC off button might work just as well, but then again I didn't really try anything till after I did the pedal dance.

Does this work with the 2017 model?

The pedal dance will work on most models I believe.
I can also disable everything, if I'm at standstill, the car is in Park or Neutral and I hold the TC button for a few seconds until the yellow TC indicator on the left lights up. I've heard it doesn't work on all models unfortunately.

In any case, be careful in the snow.
It's a very educational experience. If you've never done it before, be prepared for lots of unintentional spins. You'll get the hang of it - being smooth and not over-correcting are the things I learned.
The 3IS is very driftable and the good amount of steering angle also makes it easy to bring the car out of big angle slides
