Keeping traction control off

Everytime I turn off traction control , does it stay off as long as the TRC OFF light stays on ? I notice that the TRC OFF indicator goes away after driving a while

The only way i can get it to stay off is by holding the traction control button but i've read that it supposedly turns off the stability control as well. How do i just keep the traction control off and keep the stability feature on
