Default HELP Car won't start - 14 is250 with 73k miles

Hey ya'll, so I just jumped in my car after a long day at work. I went to start it and it won't turn over. The dash initially says nothing is wrong and then the warning messages come up.

First one says brake malfunction and the brakes feel tight with no give. Then it says check abs, then engine coolant high temperature, then oil pressure low and then finally low oil level.

Now it's been 8k miles since my last oil change. I checked the oil last week and it was up to the second doc. (is that normal?) Also checked it today and it was the same.

Here is my theory, I think that it got low on oil and that put it into safety mode which is why it won't start.

Please please if anyone has any experience or knowledge that would so appreciated! I had to leave my car at work and I plan to come in in the morning to add oil and see if it starts. Let me know what your theory is or if you need any additional info from me.

On the dipstick if you're inbetween the 2 dots at the base of the dipstick you should be fine on oil. Have you checked your coolant?
I'm not too knowledgable about this though. Hope you find a solution

With all of these random messages popping up sounds like it might just need a new battery?

Well that would make sense, it has gotten cold out recently. I did notice that on the last start up there was a slight lag from when I pushed the button and when it started.

But the windows move and so does the sunroof tilt? Honestly I'm not sure if it is original or not. I did however get a subwoofer installed by a shop about 2 months ago. That could have made the battery life shorten.

Anyone else have any idea? Thanks in advance. I will probably have it towed to a dealership tomorrow. Also does anyone have experience with a dead battery? Wouldn't it try to start?

If it’s the oem battery it’s probably that. Our cars are known to have crappy batteries

How do I know if it is oem? I'm the second owner lol. Also why all the warning lights? Why would the brake be so stiff?

Not necessarily. It may or may not crank over depending on the condition of the battery. It may have enough juice to move the windows but it would move very slowly.

A bad battery may not provide enough juice to power on all the main system. It is probably why you are seeing all the warning lights.

Well that also makes sense! I'm going to check first thing in the morning, I'm going to be so relieved if it is just the battery

it's 99.9% the battery. it's been about 4 years. so time for a new one. our cars use tiny corolla batteries in a heat soaked engine bay. they die fast.

BMWs use titanic sized batteries in the trunk (they stay cool) so they last a SUPER crazy long time 10+ years.

so yeah its the battery.

Well I got the battery out and brought it to autozone and the battery was bad. Then I installed it and it still won't start. And also still flashed all the warnings. I had to have it towed to a dealership. This is so weird! From the research I have done, it seems I'm a rarity.

Are you sure you installed it right. A loose ground terminal will render it useless. Bad battery is bad.

I installed it correctly because everything went back to the way it was before I took the battery out

I've seen even experienced mechanics fail to properly tighten one of the terminals, causing a no-start, even with a brand new battery. So if you're sure you specifically double-checked both connections were tight, it's hard to say. Not all "new" batteries have a full charge too. Let us know.

For what ever reason im leaning towards faulty ECM, because when you go to load a tune all those messages pop up. When you load the RR racing tune via handheld a bunch of error messages pop up while loading in the tune... but obviously when its over those codes/ faults were never there and the car starts normally. Hopefully the dealer figures it out.
