Default Vacuum Regulator Valve 2.0t Buzzing Noise...Again

Well, after being replaced under warranty @ 23k miles, my vacuum regulator value is buzzing again @ 33k miles.

Seems like a common problem here with a lot of 2.0t owners.

Anybody know if Lexus will be issuing a TSB for this? Or are there any other solutions?

I am on my 3rd regulator at 33k. I am hoping that they revise the part since it’s a very common issue.

I wonder if it gets gummed up with oil vapors from the intake manifold. Only thing I can think of.

Strange though cause the BMW turbo 4 and turbo 8s use pretty much the same part, if not identical. but nobody there has any issues.

Could be the way lexus plumbed it that is causing the problems. who knows?

I think for us with bolt on parts we have to since they will be accused for this issue. Just my opinion, but there are quite a few owners that did it under their warranty.

I took my car in for service and they said the buzzing noise is normal...The idiot there compare the noise to another IS which probably has the same issue. Then they started to say that the turbo is there and the turbo wheel is making the noise. Then they started talking about the high pressure DI system making the noise. Sigh.

It looks like I'm going to have to battle it out with the dealership I work for.

A couple of months ago I took my car in to service because of a vibration when accelerating and they said the issue was the vacuum regulator valve. They replaced it with what they claimed as an updated one and the issue went away. That was 2 months ago, talk to your dealer about the revised part because they should have it.
