Did you hook up all the wires? Some people left the parking lights off. Taking it to a shop soon!

the guy “reputable” when sold me the unit told me that I won’t be able to make it work as stand alone remote starter unit because he thought it was just a bypass module, he didn’t know it could be done with push button start cars. But i did a little reading before buying and told him what to flash. Moral to the story Do not believe “reputable” shops/dealers they want your money, do your research and pay to the shop you trust .
Before buying for $85 CAD I found different prices like
Local install shop (just unit) 100$ plus taxes with free flash
walmart.ca 106$ plus tax no flash obviously
kijiji (like craigslist) $85 no tax flash included.
etc
I found cheapest quote from local shop installed $250CAD all in and “reputable” shop would do it in 45 min. Be honest if I would not know how it could be done, I would pay it. Its not a big money for great convenience.

Absolutely not.
And you don’t want nobody opening your doors and taking your ride.

Just letting everyone know, Fortin now offers T-harness for our vehicles. Which means there is minimal splicing with plug and play. I'm thinking about getting it and undoing all the splices...

Trying this now. I have everything hooked up except for blinker lights wires (someone said is not necessary). I am using those splice snap wire connectors BUT when I tried starting the car up it would not DO it. I tried the pressing on remote 3 times, then pressing on remote 3 times and hold nothing. Then, when I got in my car and tried to started up normally it would not work as Well !! .
Driving my wife car now since she stays home today (planned it like this just in case).

I am guessing some wire is not making connections OR it might be that I did not reconnect the switches on the panel that i took out?? (the one with trip reset, rear sunshade, parking sensor button). I wanted to have it work before I put all the panels back but maybe I need this hooked up.

Going to try this again after work and if not, I will just have to put it back (cut wires) and try again when it gets warmer

its one of 3 plugs u forgot to connect
refer to post number 3 pic.
1.main body ecu drivers side dash plug
2.push to start button plug
3.steering column ignition plug

all of those have to be connected back

To start your car system works like that:
push lock button 3 times and do not hold.

All wires connected in my case so i will have a feedback from car that it will start the car after 3 clicks (it will turn parking lights and car would start shortly)

Hooking up the blinkers is a way for the unit to tell you error codes, so I would hook them up. After hooking it up did you go through the program function to bypass the immobilizer?

Those t-taps might have cut the wire instead of tapping into, so I would check those after.

I got all wires connected properly, its not that. But yes, I will connect the blinker lights this time. I just run out of time yesterday.
Those wires are so small. I agree, I might have cut thru them and its not making any connection now. I will have to connect them another way.
thanks.

I was talking about Plugs not wires. But if you have reconnected them all then your car should start by pressing start button, even if you messed up Alca wires. If that doesn’t happen then you did cut it somewhere.

It happened to me too but in my case it was poor t-tap connection with obd wire, and car would start by push button but programmming of the alca would not complete.

Anyway good luck finding that wire/plug

Sucks, I cannot get my car running. I press the start button and it seems that its starting but once the steering wheel extends... it then retracts again shutting engine off.

I did checked and all plugs are connected. I bit more than I could chew on this one. damm.
I double checked on connections and are secure (but are they making contact???).
I removed the splice snap connection that i initially put and replaced them with the crimp type ones. Ofcourse the wires got shortened and was more difficult to install but I did anyways. I run out of options cause I cannot cut more wire if I want to disconnect and do it again.

Before I seek professional help, could someone please let me know what else I could check? this sucks.

Did you tryed programming ALCA? If u did , did you get green light?

I would start troubleshooting like that:
I would disconnect all wires from ALCA and try to star car. If nothing happens or your car shuts down right away you have cut wire somewere
