Just Purchased 2014 IS 250 - Bluetooth help?
I just purchased this 2014 IS 250 today and I can't for the life of me connect my iPhone 6 via Bluetooth. My phone's Bluetooth setting is turned to "On" but the car can't seem to find it. Anybody else run into this issue? I'm not a techie so I could be overlooking something obvious. Also, my stereo seems different than most IS 250 Youtube reviews I've seen. My stereo has a ****, not the "mouse" controller. Is mine like the most base version??

On that screen you see, physically move the **** to the left. You can see an ARROW on the screen indicating there is another page you can access.
From there, you have the option to removed all the other devices. Then you can add your own.
NOTE: the **** is not just scrolling, you can be PHYSICALLY moved up, down, left, right to access additional pages, if any,

I will note that while at the dealership this weekend (also looking at 2014-15 IS250's) I picked one out, and we brought it down to test out. When I took the time to setup my phone for Bluetooth it kept doing music only, not phone (Moto G5). There was some issue with the microphone (in car) which prevented it from succeeding the handshake. Phone had worked without issues on a GS350 the day prior. Next car I tired (and ultimately leased) works without issue.
Dealer is looking into the mic issue on the other machine (and will have to figure it out cause they actually sold the car by the time I got back to pick mine up on Monday!)
My only problem/stumbling block right now is not being able to browse to different FOLDERS of music via the car controls. I have a well nested structure Artist\Album that I don't want to obliterate on the phone. Will try another player tonight and see if it's app related.

When I got in the car this morning, the car automatically connected to my phone via Bluetooth and started playing music. However, I can't turn the volume up via the stereo ****, I have to take out my phone and turn it up on the phone. Is this standard? Am I missing a step?

Try disable and re-enable BT on the phone. If that fails, remove the device from the car (forget) and re-add it.The phone may not be Windows, but the reboot theory is sound with BT handshake issues.

You phones "MEDIA" volume will need to be set to max and then you can control the volume properly with the radio. All Bluetooth is setup that way. It is setup that way because in theory your phone isn't near the speakers (bluetooth boombox outside by the pool) and having the ability to adjust the volume on your phone keeps you from having to walk over to the boombox to adjust it.
