Default Bluetooth outgoing volume?

I've done a search and read all of the results, so please bear with me. I just got a 2010 GS 350 and everyone says they can barely hear me. I went into the "secret" screen and found a volume adjust. It was at zero and I turned it up. I'm not sure if it did anything or not - I need to try it some more. My only call to a friend was inconclusive - but he said it could be better. But I was just sitting in the car in my garage.

But here is my question. What the adjustment I found seems to imply that it adjusts volume on my end, although I don't know why because it's fully adjustable in the normal bluetooth menu that anyone can easily access.

But in the "secret" screen there is something about microphone adjustment. It has seven (I think seven) squares. Five of them have green outlines, the other two red. It also has a way to record and playback a short recording. I have been unable to adjust anything in this screen - but it would appear to be the screen that effects volume outgoing on the mic.

Anyone know how they do the outgoing adjustment on the 2010?

Thanks

Not to worry. I only mess with things that are obvious and that I can remember what to set them back to. With my limited memory and ADD, that limits me to just the volume setting for the Bluetooth

Thanks for the replies. Happy Holidays !

I'd like to know that too. My wife says she does not hear me as well as she did with the previous GS.

with the car off and ignition on, you press the info button and hold it down, then turn on and off the headlights 3 times, up pops a screen

Thanks. I believe there are 3 fields for bluetooth, inbound, outbound and quality. I think quality is supposed to be set to max.

Can you tell us what is optimum for inbound and outbound? I understand there is a trade-off between optimizing the outbound volume and not picking up echo from the speaker.

i believe they were originally set to 0 ... i changed outbound to 3 and it that worked for me ... didn't do much testing.

These instructions leave a lot of room for interpretation. Please, clarify:

1. What position should the ignition be in? Without having my foot on the brake, pushing the start button cycles through three states. Should it be in the highest state?

2. Do I continue holding down the Info button while I flip the headlights?

Thank you.

Never mind my question above. I got to the screen after trying it a few times.

Question about the settings: my Voice Quality is set to "00". One of the previous posts mentions some sort of maximum setting. Anyone knows if this setting should be tinkered with at all, and what's the appropriate numerical value?
