Default 2015 is250 card key?

I just got off the phone with my local lexus dealership they told me there isn't a card key available for my 2015 is250... But I found. http://m.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-IS250-IS...ATCHING_ACTIVE

But I don't want to buy it and waist $250. If someone could give me some insight that would be greatly appreciated.

I bought mine (IS350) on Lexus parts now, i would recommend looking it up on there, they have a good system which lets you enter you VIN to see if it will work. I dont think there's a big difference between them from a computer standpoint, so there is probably one available.

Here's the one i ordered (again IS350) - https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...904-53511.html
You'll also have to buy the blank seperately.

^^^ Agreed, i followed this post and ordered the card, and was able to program it myself. Just waiting to get the key cut, but not a huge deal here.

It gets rid of the need to carry your key fob around. You replace it with a credit card sized key that you keep in your wallet. Allowing you to have just your phone and wallet with the tiny *** pants of today this is a great thing.

No lie, 2 minutes, i really am not exaggerating that either . The hard/time consuming piece if you decide to go the route we went is installing the TechStream software. I bought the cable and was able to do it on my Win10 laptop, it really wasn't that hard either, computers is what i do, but even so it wasn't overly complicated.

$150 is insane imo, considering it is no more than 5 minutes of work to plug your car in and program the new one. If you were closer to Boston i'd happily say stop on by. I love mine so far. Bought a nice phone case to carry mine in as well and have no more keys in my pockets.

Here is the original thread on it: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-card-key.html
And ManChild's post that i found helpful : https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ml#post9786890

Good luck!

I want to give caution to those buying the card key. The card key MUST BE BRAND NEW and never programmed before in order to easily program it with Techstream. If you have Techstream you can program the card yourself as mentioned it literally takes 2 minutes. Now you can buy a USED card key and reprogram it however it takes a few extra steps and someone with access to get you a SEED code for Techstream. This basically wipes the car clean and then you reprogram your original fobs along with the key card. This is the route I took as used cards can be snagged for under $100 on ebay. Just got to have the ***** to know you are going to reprogram your entire key set. Great information for this can be found here:
