i tried searching this forum for the 2 jack points (not the 4 pinch points) the one in front and one in back but I can't find the forum with clear instruction or clear picture. Same search on the net returns not very clear instructions and I'm scared of screwing up
can anyone please provide me with a clear picture or link to clear instructions for the 2 jack points of 2015 is250 ? (Not the 4 pinch points. I have been changing wheels using the 4 pinch I want to now do it using the 2 jack points)
The front jack point is the front subframe between the front wheels, and in front of the oil reservoir.
The rear jack point is the center of the rear differential, or the rear subframe between the rear suspension.
Use the four pinch points on the side rails for your jack stands, but remember to use a "thick" rubber block in between, otherwise the thin vertical pinch rails will deform.

I am re editing this post because I'm not sure I know where to jack the car from the back?
should I jack from C in my picture or D in my picture. I think the C section is the axle

I think i understand where im supposed to jack the car in from the back:
I will jack up the car from Section C in my picture below, but im having a hard time understanding where from the front i should jack the car up ? near the oil pan ?

i bought these torin 3 tonn aluminum jacks jacks of amazon for 58$. Had to get them
will these bend my pinch as the head looks flat
are these good to put under my pinch?

C is the rear subframe, D is the rear differential. Officially, it states to use the rear differential as the jacking point.
I'm not a certified Lexus mechanic, so I can't be 100% certain.
However, IMO, you should use the rear subframe as your jackpoint, because your rear diff looks like the surface is not designed to be smooth to support a hydraulic jack.
Your Torin 3 Ton aluminium jack stands look similar to mine.
If you place your Torins below the four pinch welds on your car, you will bend, flatten and warp your pinch welds!
You must go to a specialist rubber store, and purchase four blocks of rubber, roughly 2" wide and long, by 1" deep.
Cut a slot through the rubber, and place the rubber blocks at the four pinch weld locations on your car.
Better still, buy a proper rubber adapter for jack stands with slot for pinch welds.

The original diagram provided is for a current model 2012-19 4GS, and indeed the rear jack point is the rear diff; the Lexus IS will be very similar to the GS.
The second diagram provided is for the old 1992-98 1GS.
Actually, rather than using those black rubber pinch weld adapters, which tend to be easily cut in half by the pinch weld itself, better to use either an aluminium pinch weld adaptor which could scratch the paint off, or better still use the new stronger polyurethane pinch weld adapters which are more resistant to being cut in half by the sharp pinch welds.
Below are my aluminium hydraulic jack and jack stands.
These P2M pinch rail adapters with two hex screws [rather than ill fitting magnets] may be the best pinch rail adapters for hydraulic jacks and jack stands.
Apparently, the polyurethane pinch rail adapters "deform" too much, making their use possibly unsafe.
