I suspect it to be a Lexus Enform server issue. When you start the car, part of the start up process would be to link up to Enform using cellular network. Somehow it's causing the vehicle's system to crash/reboot.

Disconnecting the battery would reset this cellular connection and make it seem like it's working properly, until it makes the cellular connection again and crashes.

This is all speculation on my part....
LOL, checking Google maps on your phone is not a way to check to see if a satellite is working

Default NAV screen won't start up

Hi Lexus family I have a 2016 IS200 T I and I've been looking at the threads and seeing that the navigation is acting funky. It keeps restarting.
1. Shows the Lexus Enform
2. Then shows the warning
Then it keeps repeating and repeating!
At first I thought this was my car, but it looks like it's a nation wide problem... It won't even let me listen to any music or Bluetooth or anything like wise. What should I do and what should I expect?!

LOL. That would be a low tech way to check to see if satellites are down. My Direct TV still works so satellites are fine.

Yall realize there are more than 1 satellite revolving around the world right?

So, YES. It is possible for a satellite that Lexus uses for the Nav system to be down. and NOT affect google maps.

So mine was fine when I left work to go home, when I got home I grabbed my ballot and went to head for the polls and when I restarted the car mine unit was doing this.

I hit my SOS button and talked to the enform rep, he told me an update to enform was sent out to customer vehicles and the update is what caused this, he advised me to disconnect the battery wait 5 minutes and reconnect, I did this when I got home and my unit came back.

he stated a fix was in the works and the units should update again within 24 hours to fix the issue, the battery disconnect may be a temporary fix and the unit may return to the issue when it gets it's download from enform.

Used my nav at 5am (pst) today and it ran fine. Drove it again at 8am, 1pm, and 7pm. All times it booted up normally. I have a 2014 is350. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones? Idk.

Also do most of you pay for an enform subscription? I don't but I think I got an update back in May when I started up my car one day and it looked like it was getting an update.

Looks like it may be related to this? I didn't know the lack of satellites will crash the whole Lexus nav system.

Same here. I had an update a week or so ago. I also no longer pay for Enform. No problems today.
