is200t MPG vs is250 MPG
Does anyone come from an 2nd Gen IS250 to a 3rd Gen IS200t? I just recently traded my 2009 IS250 for the newer IS200t. One of the things that caught my eye was obvious Improved styling, power and of course better gas mileage advertised. But on my daily commute and driving I use to average 27mpg in my is250. Now im averaging 24mpg in the is200t, the route and driving has changed.
What gives? I thought the is200t was rated 22/33 and my is250 was 21/29.

Since it is a new car, it takes time for the MPG to adjust and improve. As you fill-up each tank of gas, you will start to see improvements.
When I got my is350, my MPG was 15-18MPG for the first ~500-800 miles. Now, I'm near 2.000 on the Odo and is averaging between 22-24 MPG per tank.

Two possibilities.
Firstly, engine break-in, like you say; it may take more miles of driving to loosen the engine up.
Secondly, the turbo. If you are lead footed, the turbo will actually use more fuel than the atmospheric.
Could also both one and two.

Well, are you mostly city or highway? The reason why my MPG is what it is because I commute 90% highway to and from work, the other 10% I would say is getting on and off the freeway to reach my house/work.
That is one factor that contributes to your MPG.
Another is maybe cause of the drive mode? I mostly drive in ECO on my commutes. If your in sport a majority of the time, you will waste way more gas. Plus, having a lead foot will also cause more gas usage.

The IST get wonderful MPG on highway but suck big time on traffic/local.
After almost 5K miles, I'm still average on 23.2 mpg. Mostly on highway but heavy SoCal traffic isn't help.
