Does anyone have a solution to the excessive front brake dust on their 3rd generation IS 350 FSport? Also, besides relocating the front license plate to the driver side with a toll hook plate adapter......has anyone lowered their plate and kept it centered under the Lexus logo?
There has been threads on the break dust issue....people just replace the brake pads with something else. In regards to the license plate...i seen some ppl just zip tie them if they don't want to use the relocation kit.
I clean my car every weekend and usually by the 2nd-3rd day the front wheels are covered in brake dust. I went to a local shop here in Arizona - AJS Auto Parts and ordered the Advics AD1118 front pads. I've had them on for about 2 weeks and I enjoy it. No squeals, stopping seems great, but best part my front wheels still look like clean. I have chrome wheels so my front two wheels usually turn black after driving a 100+ miles and my back two are shiny. Now all four look the same. Call and ask for Derek at AJS and he can get you pretty much anything with great prices.

perfectly progressive brake modulation/feel (also, perfect steering feel/feedback) are a good thing. so you may end up with dust.
the pad and rotors are often designed to work together. they will often generate dust. on many cars you change rotors ever other time you change pads. Just my opinion but dust is not a valid reason to change pads.
I am new to lexus, 2016 gs 350. I only have a few miles on it. to me the brakes feel medium hard, like a mercies but not as hard as a porsche. I was surprised the brakes were as good as they are given the weight of the car and the caliper design.
The 2IS 350 had a TSB on the pads for people complaining about dust. The 3IS 350 has the same pads, so the part number from the TSB we have is the same that'll work on your 3IS 350: 04465-30450.
Def low dust since I swapped mine out for them, rarely need to clean them now. They're a bit noisier when they're cold though.
Akebono proacts are great...did mine with 600 miles on the clock when I got my 16 350. Quiet, minimal dust, very compatible braking to stock. Easiest brake job I've ever done on a car, took more time to jack it up and take the wheels off. I did front and back for under $80 from Amazon, #1118 and #1391
Another option for the replacement front pads: Centric 105.1118 Posi-Quiet Ceramic. I didn't last 2,000 miles before swapping out the dusty stock front pads

the rears are actually a different material than the fronts, and do not dust as much, so no need to change those.

Just wanted to confirm that these were put on a 2016 IS360 Fsport. I went to amazon and they said the Akebonos 1118 wouldn't fit a 2016 IS350 F. So just wanted to make sure before I purchased..
