Default Got a little infestation in the engine bay..

So lately I've noticed that the garage was filled with mice feces. Today I decided to clean up the garage and out of curiosity, I opened the hood to find mice feces.. What precautions should I take to make sure everything is fine. Should I take it to the dealer and have them check if all the wires are fine?

Yes, you should, especially in the vents since mice feces can be very dangerous. If it were me, as a precaution, I would take it and get it detailed, including sanitizing the HVAC system.

As a side note, my buddy had rodents chew thru some wiring and he was able to get insurance to cover the damages.

I've had similar issues. I was able to finally keep them away by spreading out some peppermint oil in the engine bay and I put some of the Honda mouse tape in key places as well, including on the floor along the garage door, where they were coming in.

I bought some peppermint oil then soaked a cotton ball in it, then wiped the cotton ball in the areas under hood that they liked to go, as they do not like peppermint. I would do it about once a month and it seemed to work well.

Good luck!

I had rodent damages last winter, all wires were chewed up... ending up with 10K repair. Heard peppermint oil, moth ***** would work, but I used "rataway" spray on engine bay. Not sure it worked or not but haven't had any rodent damage since then.

I also heard that dryer sheets placed in engine bay is a deterrent for rodents.
