it will be the same hardware and you'll have the latest software version. It seems the 2015-2016 models have newer hardware (I don't know this for fact) and don't suffer as much lag. You may notice that it's a bit peppier, but not much.

I had a 2014 IS250 with the Nav as a loaner. I could tell a big difference in lag between mine and the loaner. It was pretty annoying.

Maybe I'm more sensitive than you or the loaner didn't have the latest software updates

Either way, the infotainment complaints are way overblown. It's not that much worse/better than anything else out there.

I had several firmware updates on my 14 system and they went a long way towards improving it. Still a bit laggy, but livable.

Agree 100%. In my experience it's not "useless" as many on here claim. I used it nearly every day. I would either load it through my phone before a trip, or just use the voice command on the go. Super simple.

"Enter an address"
"123 main street, seattle, wa"

I always found that to be pretty simple.

Or "find nearby Starbucks".

It always worked well for me.

And my most used:

"Go home".

it'll be replaced really soon, they ordered the part for me already.

14' with 33K and no issues other than burning through tires because there is no camber adjustment for a lowered car. Very annoying.

yep, i think the firmware updates have made all of the difference in closing the gap to imperceptibility between the two. and i agree, the infotainment systems are overblown. that said, if i could go back in time, i would still buy the cars with them. the oem look of an integrated map on the dash is great (to me).
