100,000 Mile Club
This thread is for owners who have more than 100K miles on their Lexus.
I just want information to be shared on regular maintenance items, preventative maintenance, known issues, fixes that were done along the way, etc.
I own a 2006 IS250 AWD. I bought the car used with 32k miles in Nov 2008. I hit 100k miles in May 2011. (I know, that’s about 70k miles in 2.5 years! ) I drive a lot for work all over New England and my normal commute to the office is 42 miles one way. I bought the car for pure joy and comfort while driving.
I do most of the regular maintenance on my car myself. I use Mobil1 Fully Synthetic High Mileage 5W-30 motor oil every 5k miles. I also use a fuel system cleaner, the one you pour in the gas tank, every few oil changes. This definitely helps to clean out some of the deposits in your fuel delivery system. Sometimes I do it two fill-ups in a row. I always use the highest octane fuel.
The only issue I’ve had with the car is an Air Fuel Ratio Sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 1) that went bad. Had it replaced at the dealership and they ripped me for about $500! Other than that, everything else is running great and she still purrs like a kitten!
Please share your stories and any tips or tricks you do to maintain your ride!

So is this for ANY Lexus or for the IS line? If it is for any Lexus, I have an 05 RX330, I am at 113,xxx, regular oil changes, tire rotations, air filters, cabin air filters, the routine stuff. In a few month will be gearing up to do the Timing Belt service, 120k.

I'm gearing it more towards my model IS - Second Generation, but others are welcome.
These models don't have a timing belt, they have a chain that doesn't need replacement (from what i gathered through this site). That's one less thing I have to worry about!

Sorry for going off topic, but I like how you set the orange light to come on at such a low speed (~60 mph or less!). You must be very fuel economy conscious. Unfortunately, my 06 has only about 55k miles, so I'm not ready to join this club yet.

oh, great thread too. I had 225K on my Highlander, so I moved up to Lexus. I hope to be here in a few years posting about my hitting 100K.
Until then I'll be reading about all you longer term IS owners and how your experiences were...

Mad Props to the Op
Hey original poster...can I clarify what kind of thread you're looking for? Are we talking all 250's with over 100k regardless of major mods...or only 250's without major mods??? or both???

I have the F-Sport Intake system, which is a great system to have! Installed it myself and it's been going great! Love the look and sound!
