Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone had a Blendmount radar detector mount installed in their '14 or later IS 250/350. If you do, can you give some insight into the install process and how much effort it would be to utilize the mirror mount power tap?

I saw in another forum, I believe for a '13 GS, that they recommended using the rain sensing power cord rather than the mirror power cord so that the detector will automatically power off along with the engine. Is this true for the IS as well?

I have it but it's wired to the fuse box. Took me like 10mins for the whole thing

Mirror tap is the faster way, it's all preference. You have to slide the black plastic piece covering the wires and find the two color wires to tap.

I have a blendmount w/ mirror tap installed, used the thread listed above...it's a quick, easy job

 

I looked at the blend mount but I wasn't about to get ripped off for that amount of money.

Got the blendmount + mirrortap installed in mine. Super easy installation and works great. Very expensive compared to the other mounts but I saw so many great reviews that I went with it. No regrets at all.

 

I've had other mounts before and they were always "loose" BlendMount is stiff which I like
