Default Rear view mirror wiring

Looking to install a radar detector by using the power from the mirror. Can anyone tell me which wires are the ignition power and ground?

I have a 2013 and wish I took a picture when I tapped off power from the mirror for my dash cam. The colors were different from the IS and NX vehicles. I believe it was brown and another color, but your best bet is to use a multimeter.

Why not to tap it to rain sensor? located right behind rear view mirror... rear view mirror has constant power, not a good idea though. I did the same coming from Acura but Lexus has garage door buttons located right on mirror, so your radar_detector won't shut down when you leave your car.

I also heard that you can wire it via the fuse box power, is that a better alternative for radar power?

I tapped the rear view first.. But the connection wasn't as tight as I expected. It'd lose connection every now and then. I ended up hard wiring to the fuse box on the passenger side. I tapped the heated steering wheel. There is a diy I followed if you search.

May I ask where did you purchase the wiring from? ALso, what radar detector are you using?

Thanks

I have a valentine 1. I used the wiring included with the radar, then i went to autozone and bought an add on circuit fuse tapper.

here's the DIY I followed

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...neone-4gs.html

Took me more time to adjust my blendmount than to run the wiring.
