Default Plasti dip window trim question

Hey I was wondering for those who dipped their window trim if they completely dipped over the rubber part, masked it off or if it was peelable unmasked?

I completely covered, you can easily peel off the part that gets onto the rubber weatherstripping

Hey Just to double check, i was asking about the rubber part under the chrome trim. Would it be easy to peel that part off?

It would not be easy, you'd need to razor it perfectly. The crack is too thin the dip won't peel right

It came off the rubber pretty easy, the only issue i had was the passenger's triangle window at the bottom.

Did you dip the front grille trim as well? If so, how many cans of plastidip did you need to cover windows and grille?

Thanks

You can prolly get away with just one can, I messed up on the emblems a couple times cuz i was rushing so i wasted a couple sprays.

I used more than just one can for the Windows.. Always better to have extra than to be frugal.. The cans are cheap anyway

I know I'm digging up a REALLY old thread, but it is the only one that seemed to specifically address this question. Do you plasti dip over the rubber half of the top chrome trim (the bottom 50% that is attached to the chrome), or mask it off and peel away on final wet coat? The response in this thread isn't clear to me. It seems it won't peel away from the chrome since the gap isn't big enough, so do I spray over both (rubber and chrome) and peel away like typical on the window side on the wet coat and one inch gap above the chrome when dry? This would essentially cover the whole thing in a single layer of plasti dip? From most members pictures, it looks like they spray over the entire section. Also, does it break away from the front black triangle piece easily, using the 1 inch gap method?
