Default Cargo mesh...how do you use it?

Hey guys, I'm new to my IS300F, I've had her about 3 weeks and I'm really enjoying her. I came from a very long line of driving Audi's and in the boot I had hooks that snapped from the top (near the desk mounted sub) that I could hang my grocery bags so they wouldn't fly around the trunk during "spirited" drives. The IS however, doesn't have hooks, it does have this mesh net that hangs from the top to the bottom and I cant figure out what its for or how best to use it. Its certainly not good for grocery bags.

The IS has hooks at the top of the trunk and floor for a cargo net. I have a cargo net on my IS350 and pretty much use it for groceries.

I have a cargo net for my car but I took it out. I found that it doesn't work well for me and groceries. I just placed a black rubbermaid tote in the trunk and put my groceries in that. It will also contain any spills that could occur. I would love to have the hangers, though.

Not sure if the cargo net comes with the top hooks but in my case, I did not have the hooks. I re-purposed an existing Toyota cargo net and I had to put screws as the top "hooks". This might help if you don't have the hooks:

If you have the Canadian version of cargo net for the 3IS, the top hooks come with the installation package. The Canadian cargo net comes with a vinyl zipped storage bag which you can store the entire cargos net when it is not in use. It is similar to the one you have in NX. Lexus Canada started this new cargo net design since the current gen ES. When I saw it, I insisted the salesman to include it with the purchase.

Ahh, it never crossed my mind on a sedan to negotiate it in the deal but since I've also set it up in the IS and have been using it the last couple years, it's soooo convenient with groceries. I couldn't purchase my next car without it!

"Stowing items in your trunk has never been easier, thanks to this innovative cargo net with integrated storage pouch. After attaching the storage pouch to the integrated D-hooks, simply unzip the pouch, attach the cargo net to the upper mounting hooks and the net is ready to hold your groceries, sports equipment or other cargo. When not in use, the cargo net tucks neatly into the handy pouch, which is designed to also hold other small items". $65 alone or included with the
accessory package that also has trunk mat and wheel locks.

I use mine for towels and interior cleaner. Also o shove laundry detergent and ***** in there. Over the summer I took it out but ended up putting it back in when moving offices this summer, came in handy.

That picture and description is from the Lexus Accessories page.
The ES net is nicer than previous nets in having the zippered pouch
that both quiets the clatter of cargo and contains the whole affair
when hauling luggage or large cargo. Available at Parts Depts
or online.
