Default Collision avoidance feature?

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to get the IS200 to have the Collision Prevention Assist feature that Mercedes has on the new C class?

I saw the feature and it seems like a really neat idea for teenage drivers especially who are not careful.

Thanks

Pre-collision system PCS is available in Lexus but depends on package/area.

I'm in southern california. I wanted something of the IS size, but with this feature, it seems so hard to come by.

The Q50 has it. The car can practically drive itself. I think Subaru was the other manufacturer that had this.

I don't recall seeing any F-Sports with the PCS so most likely going to be a non-F. If you're looking to expand your search into other brands, Acura also has this system (adding to what EZZ mentioned). I think it may be an option for the ILX if you want a small car (easier for teenagers to maneuver).

PCS is available on F-Sport in Canada. If you put in a custom build order, it should be possible.

That said, relying on this system to save your life is a stretch. Might reduce severity to save your life, but in a major collision, you could still be very injured.

And there are those on these forums that find the system intrusive and produce false alerts. The PCS in the IS does not have adjustable sensitivity. The newer generations of Lexus' do (e.g. the NX)

PCS is available on F-sport models as I have it on my 350.

IMO this is the best reason not to have one, New drivers need to be taught to rely on their own senses, spatial awareness etc when learning how to drive and not on technology.

Technology should be used as a tool and not a crutch.

New drivers rarely have a Lexus as their first car and luxury cars should at the very least have this option. I wouldn't get it for me but my wife tends to run into things

I have a 2015 IS350 F-Sport in Canada and have the PCS. To be honest it's a little annoying sometimes. I've had it beep at me when I was having fun on a highway ramp. I guess it's good to know that the system works.
